  • Have a sensitive vulva
  • Are looking for a premium lube
  • Experience vaginal dryness

  • Want a long lasting lube
  • Want a thick lube for large anal toys

Ah Yes water-based is a sexual lubricant that is aimed towards vagina owners, that typically experience vaginal dryness. It has an acidic pH reading of 5, showing how it attempts to match a vagina's natural pH balance. This lube is made from organic ingredients and prioritises not containing toxic ingredients, like glycerin and parabens. It comes in a plastic tube bottle, similar to what a body cream would come in, that is easy to squeeze. Ah Yes water based is compatible with all sex toy materials and condom types, as well as being a great lubricant for penis owners, despite it being aimed towards vulva owners. This lubricant is thin and watery in consistency and feels smooth on the skin. Ah Yes lubes are FDA approved, showing that it is appropriate for oral sex.

The overall design of this lube is very attractive to me. I really like the light blue colouring and simple design - It looks sleek and premium, with its large branding and and simple wording. The blue and white colouring relates to it being a water-based lube, which to me feels like they have put more thought into the design. I also really like how discrete this lube looks to the naked eye, as it looks like a generic cream if put on the bathroom shelf. I would say that this design feels more feminine, which also relates to it being a vaginal lubricant. The branding and wording is very simple and easy to read, making the design look more professional and expensive. If I were to change anything, I would make the wording slightly larger, so that it is easier to initially see what type of lube it was. The abbreviation of water-based to 'WB' is something I didn't initially catch onto, so it would be better if the font underneath stating that it was 'water-based', was larger.

As this lube is a thin, water-based lube, it took little effort to wash it off the skin. Once it had been washed off, using hot water and soap, it didn't linger on the skin, or leave it feeling greasy. I really hate washing off lube and it still feels like it is on your skin! Ah Yes water based is compatible with all condom types, as well as all sex toy materials. I loved this as I love to use silicone toys! Another win with this lube is that it doesn't become tacky - I sometimes find that when a lot of friction occurs, some lubes can become sticky and tacky. Not with this one! Yes it did need some re-application throughout sex, just to maintain its wetness, but it didn't become sticky or irritating. If I could choose, I prefer a lube that I don't have to re-apply throughout sex, but if you're someone who doesn't care, then this lube would be a great match.

Ah Yes water-based is FDA approved, which is something I usually look for, as I like to know if the lube is safe enough to be interacting with my body. A lube that is FDA approved shows me that it is reliable and even safe for oral sex. On the box, this lube states that it has a pH reading of 4, but when I tested its' pH level, I collected a reading of 5. Both reading are acidic, showing that this lube attempts to try and match the naturally acidic reading of a vagina. This is great for women who are susceptible to vaginal infections, as it reduces that chances of throwing off the natural pH of the vagina. The ingredients in this lube are organic, here is a list: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice Powder, Linum Usitatissimum (Flax) Seed Extract, Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar) Gum, Ceratonia Siliqua Gum, Xanthan Gum, Sodium(Natrium) Chloride, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate

For such a premium product that is made of organic ingredients and comes in high quality packaging, I think this lube has a very attractive price tag. I think this lube has a reasonable price tag compared to other organic lubes on the market. I often notice that lubes that brand themselves as organic or having natural ingredients, tend to charge more money, as they can get away with it 'being better for your body'. But with Ah Yes, they have actually created a premium product that is actually good for your body, so it isn't trying to sell you the dream... Love them for this!

This lube is reasonably thin and watery, making it feel natural and not synthetic. Because it is so thin, I would only recommend using this lube for personal masturbation, foreplay sex with a partner and using a small sex toy. I think this lube would be great in these scenarios and provide you the right about of lubrication. I wouldn't recommend using it for anal, as it is not the most cushioning or thickest lube. As well, I wouldn't use it with a large sex toy, as I don't think you would feel the benefits of the lube because it wouldn't create a seal around the toy, therefore drying out quickly. I would suggest using it with a small bullet vibrator, to feel the lubrication. This lube does require re-application throughout, as it is too thin to keep its slip. However, it doesn't become sticky or tacky, so it does stay lubricated. In my opinion, this lube is great for foreplay,

The first thing I noticed is that this lube came in a box! I love a box! The reason I love a box so much is because it makes the product look more premium and expensive - to me, the company has put more effort into how they are presenting the product. The bottle itself comes in a squeezable plastic bottle, that is similar to what a moisturiser would come in. It is very easy to squeeze out all of the lube, and the click-close lid makes it easy to travel with, without spillages. The packaging overall is easy to use and looks smart and discrete, which some people really value. Compared to other lubes with harder plastic bottles, I would have all of my lubes in this type of bottle! Even with lube on my hands, this bottle still performs at its best.

Ah Yes water based isn't fully translucent and has a slight yellow/cream colour to it. For me, I didn't like this. However, some could say it looks quite realistic... When rubbed into the skin, it became translucent, but I have quite fare skin, so possibly it could remain a yellow/cream colour on a darker skin tone. When it interacted with clothing or bed sheets, it didn't leave much of a stain, but it made the sheets very wet, which didn't dry for a couple of hours. After washing the sheets, the lube washed out fully without leaving a lasting stain.

  • Doesn't contain glycerin or parabens
  • Compatible with all sex toy materials
  • Great for people who have sensitive vaginas

  • Not waterproof
  • Very wet
  • Not thick or cushioning

As a vulva owner, this is the dream lube. It really ticks all the boxes - It is chemically safe as it is FDA approved, it doesn't contain glycerin or parabens, so it won't negatively interact with your downstairs and it has a pH that is close to the natural pH of a vagina! What more could you want! I really love a lube that feels natural and not synthetic; this lube is exactly the consistency I am looking for! If you're a vulva owner like me, I would highly recommend. But even if you're a penis owner, this neutral, organic lube is a great addition to your sexual adventures. I would say that it is not the best lube to use with large toys or for anal, as it is not thick or cushioning, but rather for foreplay or partner sex. Who doesn't love a bargain too!
