Lelo Water Based Moisturising Lube – Test & Review

If there was a Ferrari of lubes, then this would be it. The bottle design is out of this world, almost futuristic! The extravagant lid and premium looking bottle makes the bottle look slick and expensive. I often find that lubes don't come in a box, but this one did and it felt like I was opening a present on Christmas day! I love the way this lube doesn't look gender specific - the black appeals to all. The labelling on the front of the bottle is simple and modern, reminding me of the experience of opening up an expensive perfume bottle. It makes the product more discrete as it doesn't outwardly look like a lube bottle, which is great for those who want to keep it a secret!

As this lube is a water based lube, it washes off the skin very easily when using soap and water. The Lelo water-based doesn't linger on the skin, which I often find silicone lubes do. It works with all sex toy materials, as well as all condom types, which is great for me, as I love to use silicone sex toys! I really hate when lube starts to get sticky and tacky, but this one is the opposite! It stays wet for days. This is a reasonably thick lube, which is something that I prefer, because it often find thicker lube can create a seal around large sex toys, or create a slippery barrier between me and my partner. Some could argue that a thinner lube feels more natural, but for me, a thicker lube makes sex more comfortable and therefor, more enjoyable.

The Lelo water-based lube is FDA approved, which is something quite important to me, as it eases me in knowing it is safe to be consumed. This lube has a slightly acidic pH of 6, which is great for both penis and vulva owners. I don't like a lube that has too much of an alkali pH, as it tends to throw my own pH off balance, increasing the potential risk of infection. I also appreciate a lube that doesn't have glycerin or parabens in in, and this lube doesn't. This lube contains the ingredients: Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Aloe Vera Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Panax Ginseng Root Extract and Citric Acid.

If you're on a lower budget, then I probably wouldn't suggest this lube is the best match for you. If you're wanting a premium product, then you should expect to pay a premium price tag. The Lelo personal moisturiser is definitely a premium product, as the Lelo brand itself is known for being a higher priced brand. In my opinion, you're paying for what you get - a lube that is thick but smooth on the skin,

If you're wanting a lube that will last until the end of time, then this is exactly the one you need. This lube's longevity is the longest I have ever seen! When using this lube with a fleshlight, it didn't become sticky or tacky, and continued to keep its slippery texture. I think this lube would be great for any kind of sexual activity, as well as great for all experience levels. It is one of the thickest lubes I have come across, so if you don't like a paste-like lube, then I would not recommend you this product.

This lube probably has my favourite packaging ever! The circle lid is unnecessary but I love it! It has no need besides being nice to look at - I love the way you can't tell that this is a lube. Sometimes I feel like some lubes look cheap and a little tacky, almost sleazy, and sometimes I feel ashamed having them on my bedside table! But with this discrete, sleek packaging, I would even bring it out in my handbag with me! The pump lid is super easy to use, compared to other lubes with a screw lid - I love an easy-to-use bottle even when I have lube all over my hands. To top things off, it comes in a black box, that the bottle is inside. For me, this really adds a level of luxury to the product, as it looks like more energy has been put into the production of it.

Despite this lube being thick, it was very easy to remove off of clothes and cotton bed sheets. It wasn't stubborn to wash out, and after putting it in the washing machine, it did not leave a stain.
