Sliquid Swirl Green Apple Flavoured Lubricant Review

The Sliquid Swirl Green Apple Flavoured Lube is a flavoured sexual lubricant that can be used during sex to add lubrication and reduce friction. This water-based lube is compatible with any sex toy material, including silicone, as well as any condom type. It is flavoured to taste like green apples, and also smells like like that too. This lube comes in a plastic bottle that has a click-close lid, which allows you to easily aim the lube onto the skin. The cap can also be twisted off and comes sealed. This lube has a slightly acidic pH of 5, which I would expect as it is aimed towards vulva owners - the closer the match of the lube to the pH of the vulva, the less likely you are to develop a bacterial infection.

I have seen lots of Sliquid bottles before, and a lot of their standard lubes come in this style bottle. They all follow the same design pattern, with the same logo and style design on the front - all slightly changing with the words and the colour. I like the way the lube is recognisable and follows the same design style as the other products that Sliquid make - it is very similar to System JO. I also like the way the colour links to the flavour - it's a satisfying design feature.
The Sliquid Swirl green apple lube is easy to wash off the skin, as it is water based. Just use a natural soap and hot water, and it comes off easily. It can be used with any material sex toy or condom type, as it is compatible with all. I love that this lube doesn't contain glycerin - a sugar that can often promote bacterial growth - as for me personally, I am someone who is often susceptible to infections!
This lube is complaint with FDA regulations, but there is no confirmation about it being FDA approved - I much prefer a product that is officially FDA approved, especially if it is a product that can go inside your body! Especially a lube that is going to be consumed orally, I would have liked a little more testing. The pH level of this lube is 5 - an acidic lube. This is a great level as it is more likely to match the naturally acidic level of a vulva. When it comes to flavored lubes, I always think there is a higher risk of pH imbalance as it has more ingredients and special features.
I know that this lube has the special feature of being flavored, but I do think it is quite expensive. The Sliquid lubes seem to be more expensive on the whole anyway, as they are designed with health in mind. Sliquid use body-safe ingredients, that are safe for women to use and tend to reduce the risk of getting a vaginal infection. But for a lube that only smells and tastes like green apple, Sliquid are asking for a little too much at $16.99. Around $10 would be more appropriate I think.
As this lube is an every day flavored lube, it has a medium thickness to it. It is not thick nor thin, and has a medium speed pour. It feels smooth and natural on the skin, with a smell that is recognisable but not too overwhelming. As it is water-based, it can be used with any material sex toy, including silicone. Some lubes I wouldn't recommend for anal or vaginal use, but I would happily use this lube for any type of sex. For anal, it isnt the thickest lube, but it will still work.
If you have read some of my other Sliquid lube reviews, you will know that I am not the biggest fan of their bottle design. Looking at the things I like first though - I like the click-close lid, as it makes it easier to aim the lube onto the skin. I also like the way the lid screws off, as it means that I can get every last drop out of the bottle if I need to (I love to get my whole money's worth). But the one main thing I don't like about the Sliquid bottles, is how hard the plastic is! The bottle is so hard to squeeze, and that is even when I don't have lube on my hands!
Despite being green apple flavored, it doesn't have any colour, and it is very easy to wash off the skin. It doesn't stain the bedsheets and can easily be washed out using soap and water.

Who doesn't love a bit of flavour added into their sex life? I certainly do, but did this lube hit the mark for me? Overall, the Sliquid Swirl Green Apple Flavoured Lube was a great lube to try - making sex more fun and flavoursome. Yet, it isn't going to be one of the first lubes I jump to grab, simply due to the slightly chemical taste and smell, and the way it is not the longest lasting lube. Sliquid are known for making vulva friendly lubes, which is something I love, as I would rather use a lube that has low risk of causing me any infection! As an option for flavored lube, it is a tough one - because it is sweet and tasty on one hand, but then leaves a slight chemical taste in your mouth. I think I am going to have to try it a few more times before I finally decide.
