The Tantus Tawse Small is a sleek and elegant BDSM tool for impact play. The shape and name of the Tantus Tawse Small was completely new to me before I tested it out. Oh my goodness, am I glad to have made its acquaintance! This peculiar impact tool is often categorized as a spanking or slapper paddle. While the size may say ‘paddle’, the design and impact definitely say ‘whip’. That is in fact also what it is. It’s the plural of the Scots word ‘taws’ which refers to the thong of a whip. I was relieved to know that the intense stinging I felt from this toy wasn’t an indication of a low pain tolerance, and I was, furthermore, excited to experiment more with the Tantus Tawse Small now that I knew of its potential.

Silicone Impact Tools Are Elite

This is my first ever BDSM impact tool made entirely out of silicone. Now I get what all the fuss is about. You can do some serious damage with this baby! The silicone is nice and weighted which will support every stroke. It’s incredibly smooth to the touch and feels amazing to drag over the skin before or after your lashings. The fact that it’s 100% body-safe makes it ideal to use for impact play on the genitals. This was a bit daunting to me at first, but at a lower intensity level this felt great! Oh and it’s also super easy to clean and sterilize in between uses. What’s not to like?

Using Both Ends for Impact

First of all, Tantus recommends using the handle itself for a more thuddy impact. I was a bit skeptical of this at first but WOW! It offers a totally different sensation that’s just as impressive as the tawse side. My first thought was that I basically had two toys in one product. Yes, please.

Using the Handle Internally

Another recommendation Tantus makes is using the handle as an insertable toy. Again, I didn’t quite buy it. But let’s not knock it ’till we’ve tried it. While the handle isn’t super girthy, it still has a slightly bulbous tip that actually provides some pleasant g-spot massage during insertion. I wouldn’t pick the Tantus Tawse Small if I were looking for some amazing penetrative pleasure BUT it’s very pleasant (and practical) to use during a hot BDSM session. My partner used it on me in multiple ways as playful ‘punishment’ and that was quite a success!

I have absolutely no complaints about the design of the Tantus Tawse Small. It looks and feels luxurious and dangerous all at once. It has the perfect size for intermediate level impact play on a partner as well. If I were to change anything (and that's just me being greedy at this point), I would make the handle slightly longer or girthier so as to pose as more of 'threat' when used internally. For experienced kinksters, it may be too small.

The silicone itself (and the long and slender shape of the toy) makes the Tantus Tawse Small rather floppy. While this isn't a big con per se, it does mean that the movements of the toy are more unpredictable at first. It takes a little bit of practice to master the movements of the Tantus Tawse Small.

I already own a few dildos from Tantus and generally do trust the brand to make high-quality items that feel good and last long. Even so, I must admit that the Tantus Tawse Small is probably my favorite Tantus product so far. It is so clearly a premium quality product and a lot of thought went into the design.

For such a high quality item, I don't think the Tantus Tawse Small is overpriced. I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives out there but none that match this versatility, thanks to the material. For $32, you're getting a lot of bang for your buck!

The Tantus Tawse Small went beyond my expectations! I was delighted to find out that all the 'alternative' ways to use the whip actually worked out for me and felt really nice. As I mentioned earlier, the sensations themselves feel great and incredibly intense, but having multiple uses in one BDSM tool takes the cake!

The Tantus Tawse Small is made of 100% non-porous premium silicone. This means that it is body-safe, hypoallergenic, and can be sterilized in the dish washer or in boiling water for a few minutes. It's fully submersible and can be washed with warm water and some mild soap. Dry it off completely before storage and make sure that it isn't in contact with other silicone items during storage as this can damage the material.

I absolutely love the Tantus Tawse Small. You can immediately tell that it's a high quality product from the smoothness of the silicone and the almost seamless design. The two-pronged design looks deliciously scary and it wields like a dream! It definitely feels more like a whip than a paddle but not as intense as a heavy-duty bull whip. Although, the intensity level is perfect for me! I like that you can actually use both ends to switch between a stingy and thuddy sensation upon impact. It's super easy to clean, more intense than you would think, and it's pretty affordable for this level of quality. It's a win for me!
