System JO Gelato Crème Brûlée Flavored Lubricant Review

This bottle definitely looks luxurious and dessert-themed, which I love. It actually reminds me a lot of my favorite brand of ice cream sauce, which is enough to make me start drooling a little! In terms of the shape and size of the bottle, it's very handy to have a slim bottle that fits nicely in my bedside cupboard.

Since this System JO lube is water-based, it's super easy to wash off your skin. It's not tacky, though it can leave a very slight sticky residue on hard surfaces. You can use it with all types of sex toys and condoms, too. The downside of water-based lubes is that they dry out quite quickly, but that shouldn't be much of an issue if you're using it during oral sex.

Edible lubes like this one have to be safe to eat, of course! This flavored lube contains 100% safe ingredients and is FDA licensed, so you can trust that it won't cause any harm to you or your partner. It has a neutral pH, too, which, while not as great as slightly acidic lubes that match the vagina's natural pH level, is still body-safe. However, it does contain glycerine, a sugar that can promote bacterial growth in the vagina, possibly leading to infections. There is some debate about this, but since my body is especially sensitive, I chose to avoid using this lube on myself.

You can find the System JO Crème Brulee flavored lube for around $9 for a 1 fl oz bottle, and around $16-17 for a 4 fl oz bottle. That's certainly not the cheapest flavored lube you can find, but I think the price reflects how much better and more palatable it is than so many other edible lubricants! Since I got the 4 oz bottle, and I only need a very small amount each time, I think it's 100% worth it.

This lube is one of the lowest viscosity lubes I've encountered, and pours almost like a thin silicone lube. For lubes to use during sex, I usually prefer a much thicker, gel-like consistency, but for an oral sex companion lube like this one, the thinness makes it easy to pour wherever you need it. We even tried using it like a body paint, drizzling it on the skin and then licking it off!

This type of bottle is very practical, since you don't get any dried up lube stuck around the opening. It's also way easier to use when you have slippery hands, since you don't need to screw anything off. The bottle itself is a little difficult to squeeze, but since the lube is so thin, it isn't prohibitively difficult.

When I looked at the System JO Crème Brûlée lube in the bottle, it looked a fairly dark caramel color. However, once you pour some out, it only has a slightly yellow tinge to it. When I poured it out onto some fabric, it looks translucent! Once I washed the fabric, it came right out with zero staining.
