ID Pleasure Tingling Lube Review
- Want to use this lube with any material sex toy
- Want a water-based lube for anal
- Like a large lube bottle
- Don't like lube that gets sticky after time
- Don't like a thick, gel-like lube
- Want intense tingling sensations
The ID Pleasure lube is a water-based sexual lubricant that slightly tingles when on the skin. The tingling sensation, along with the menthol, helps penis owners maintain an erection for longer and provides vulva owners with tingling sensations, making it more sensitive. The ID Pleasure lube comes in a tall plastic bottle that has a click-close lid. The packaging is pink and purple, with a grey top, making it fun and eye-catching. This lube can be used with any sex toy material or condom type and it doesn't leave a stain when washed off the skin or bedsheets. It has a thick consistency, an almost thick gel-like paste when on the skin. It would therefor be great for coating large toys or for anal sex.

The ID bottles are some of my favourite bottles, just like the Pjur and JO bottles. They are tall and large, which is something I love as I feel like I am getting more for my buck, as well as the lube lasting longer. I like the colours and design of the branding - the colours are exciting and eye-catching and not boring, like other lubes that come in plain, single coloured bottles. Some could think the colours are slightly more feminine, but my male partner thinks colour is impartial. The fading from pink to purple is sleek and attractive, and makes it look like the brand has put more effort into the design. In my opinion, ID always put great effort into the design of their bottles, as I often believe that the bottle design is a large selling point. I love the effort, ID!
Despite this lube being so thick, it is quite an easy lube to use and navigate. When on the skin, it creates a thick layer and provides a coating of lube cross the skin. It takes a couple of washes to fully wash the lube off the skin, which for me was annoying as I don't like to feel like the lube remains on the skin after use. It definitely made my skin smell minty! Its' compatibility is great though - I love a lube that I can swap my toys in and out with - metal, glass or silicone... I can rotate! It did become tacky after using it for a while, but nothing a bit of re-application couldn't fix. If you don't like to re-apply your lube, then this isn't the best lube, maybe pick a thinner, more watery lube.
ID Pleasure lube is FDA approved, which is something I really value, as it puts my mind at ease if I ever want to use this lube for oral sex. As this lube is minty and tingly when on the tongue, the FDA approval sticker lets me know that it is safe to consume. This water-based lube has a pH of 6, showing that it is slightly more acidic than alkali. This is good for vulva owners as a vulvas' natural pH is slightly acidic too, so by attempting to match the pHs, it reduces the risk in getting an infection. I really appreciate this as a vulva owner, with a partner that has a penis, as it means we can both use this lube, without worrying!
Like the other ID lubes, this tingling lube is a premium quality lube that is thick, conditioning on the skin and well packaged from a recognisable brand. I think that even though its price is higher than most water-based lubes on the market, ID are asking a fair price, due to the quality of the lube and its packaging, as well as its added tingling feature. Sure, it doesn't have the most intense tingling features, so maybe they are asking a little too much, but it depends what you're into. Maybe this lube is better as a Christmas present than your every day lube.
The thickness of this lube helps with its longevity - If you were to re-apply this lube during sex, it would probably go on forever and ever! When I dropped this lube off a spoon, it fell very slowly, demonstrating its high viscosity. Unfortunately, this lube does become sticky after using it for a long time, especially between two people. This did become annoying when using it with my partner because as a couple, we prefer a wet lube, so that we don't have to worry about re-application. I can also see this becoming a problem if you were to perform anal sex or use a large anal toy, as you don't want that area drying out and friction reducing!
I am a major fan of the packaging for the ID lubes, as they are made of thick plastic that is easy to squeeze and hold. The bottles are tall and bigger than most short lube bottles, which is a comfortable hold when held in one hand. The bottles have an easy-to-use click-close lid, which I prefer, as I can aim it directly onto the specific areas of my body, without any mess. Often bottles with screw lids tend to have less control of the liquid and I find it can get a lot messier... ID lubes never cut corners with their packaging, with the added 3D logo on the top of the lid - For me, this is why ID are some of the most premium lubes on the market, they really go that extra mile.
Despite this lube being so thick, it didn't leave a stain on my bedsheets. Sure, because it is a water-based lube, it made the sheets very wet, but once they were washed in the washing machine, it left no lasting stain. It is also a translucent lube so it wasn't visible on the skin.

This lube’s special feature is its tingling feature and menthol hints. When rubbed on the skin, you will feel a tingling sensation, making the desired area more sensitive and responsive. For penis owners, it is designed to maintain their erection and for vulva owners, it is designed to make the vulva and clitoris more sensitive, therefor increasing the chances of orgasming. The menthol taste and smell of this lube helps make oral sex more tasty and enjoyable, as well as increasing the tingling sensations.
- It can be used with all sex toy materials
- It is thick enough for large toys or anal
- It smells fresh and minty
- It becomes sticky after using it for a while
- Fells heavy on the skin - not very natural
- The packaging can be seen as female targeted
If you're a lover of thick lubes, then this in a lube option I would highly recommend. Thick, coating, reliable, tingly. I really have a deep love for this lube. The tingly sensation was soft and seductive, great for those who love to spend time on foreplay. It's not too intense, so if you're looking for a lube with a big buzz, then this probably isn't a great match for you. Be warned, you may have to open the piggy bank as it is certainly not one of the cheaper lube options on the market, but I think that you're paying for the high quality. A reliable and recognisable brand, with a lube that makes you feel great - why isn't it in your basket already!?
