First Impressions
Upon opening this shiny gem, I noticed the lustrous colours of the iridescence, and the sparkle of the jewel on the flared bottom. The metal is smooth, cool to the touch, and the tapered tip slides with ease with a little bit of lubrication. This specific plug is a size small, making the largest circumference 3.75 inches, 2.5 inches of insertable length, and a total of 3 inches in length altogether! I typically prefer the medium or larger sized plugs but this lil’ guy was pleasantly surprising!Getting a Closer Look
Another thing that was obvious to me right away was the weight, for something being so small, I wasn’t expecting it to be slightly on the heavier side! I enjoy a bit of heaviness as I find it makes the entire experience a bit more enjoyable. If you want to spice up your metal plug play, placing it in a bowl of cold water or warm water will change the temperature of the plug! I’ve done it once or twice before and it creates a fun new twist on plug play! Unlike other plugs I own, this plug does not rub my skin uncomfortably. I find plugs that have the heart shape gem or other shapes of gems, put pressure on the skin, which for me, makes wearing them for a longer period of time get uncomfortable quite quickly! The Lovehoney Jewelled plug looks very luxurious to me personally! The iridescent colours are so pretty and blend together so nicely; the shine from the gemstone really makes me smile, my other plugs definitely don't shine like this one does! I do enjoy the design, its tapered at the top, and as I stated above the shape of the flared bottom works so well for me, but my only quarrel with this plug is it's a bit too small! I would absolutely buy a bigger version of the Lovehoney Jewelled plug!
One of my favourite things about using anal plugs is the simplicity of them. They are easy to use and don't particularly need an instruction manual! Wash and cleanse before using, add your preferred amount of lubrication and insert into the rectum. Take your time and relax; relaxing is key to enjoying anal play! I personally think anyone with mobility or grip issues might have a harder time inserting a plug on their own, but I think it would still be doable if the motivation was there! Since the Lovehoney Jewelled plug is metal, you can use any kind of lubricant with it, instead of specified ones like silicone where its the best and safest to use a water-based lubricant only! Though my favourite will forever be water-based lube!
I feel the Lovehoney Jewelled plug is reasonably good quality for its price. The stone doesn't look like a cheap dollar store gem and the metal feels solid with a good heaviness to it. The shape is sturdy and very comfortable to wear; to me, this says the Lovehoney Jewelled Plug is a bit higher up on the quality scale then some plugs are!
The LoveHoney Jewelled plug is $26.99 US and $36.95 CAD; comparing this plug to others I have paid for, I'd say it's a bit more on the expensive end for the price. I've bought a set of 3 Jewelled plugs for $50 CAD, with similar quality as this one; for the size I think it should be a bit cheaper. Though the quality of the plug is great, I'd expect something a bit more for $26-$36. It does come with an instruction manual with 6 different languages, unfortunately English is not one of them.
All the reviews I read on this specific plug were very positive and specified that it would be fantastic for beginners. I was hesitant to use it at first as I felt it'd be too small and simply slide out, to my amazement I was wrong and most certainly impressed with it! It is most certainly a great way for beginners to get comfortable with anal play, but also a fun thing to wear out for errands if you're more on the experienced side! For me, with a little bit of lubrication it slid in effortlessly, zero pain, and settled in nicely.
The packaging is fairly basic, but has a good chunk of colour and description on it ; more so then other toys' packaging I have bought. The plug arrived very secure inside the box; it was wrapped in tissue paper, and then placed snug inside a cardboard cutout, which was then put inside the regular packaging. This was probably my favourite part of the packaging since MANY of my toys have come with very little protection for the product.
The Lovehoney is a non-porous, stainless steel metal plug. It's extremely easy to clean, and store if you have a secret spot for all your toys; a storage bag in not included with it. Cleaning it is as simple as some warm water, soap and your favourite toy cleaner! Just remember to dry and store it away!
