So Much More Room for Activities!

It’s safe to say that I’m a fan of adding a little extra *spice* into my play time every now and then – and simple restraints like these are a perfect way to elevate your usual light bondage play! I’ve gotten to a point where I’m curious to incoporate more “heavy-duty” restraints that have a fixed fastening point. Unlike using a simple pair of handcuffs that merely tie your wrists or ankles together. However, I wasn’t ready to drill any hooks into my walls or buy whole pieces of BDSM sex furniture just to experiment with it. Enter the Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs. These over the door restraints  can turn every doorway in my house into a place for sexy submission! Now, I’ve got a much more versatile playground at my disposal, and I can secure myself or my partner to any sturdy door frame around! Best of all? It’s by far one of the easiest ways to explore standing bondage play at every angle. They’re easy to place at whichever width you’re comfortable with on the door itself, and can even be used under the door to secure your ankles.

Questionable Quality or Just Lightweight Materials?

My main point of critisism for the Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs is the velboa fabric cuffs. This fabric does shed a tiny bit and looks a little bit cheap. At first glance, it doesn’t seem like the cuffs are very durable or longlasting. On the other side, the velboa fabric feels super soft on the skin and is very lightweight. This makes it seem a bit more accessible to beginngers, and makes it even more ideal to bring with you on the go. During use they actually are quite durable. I wouldn’t go as far as saying that they’re suitable for heavy duty bondage, but they do get the job done if you’re not planning on suspending anyone by their wrists. I can’t say much about the durability over time since I haven’t owned them for very long. However, I haven’t noticed any actual deterioration between uses, which has to be a good sign. All in all, what I may have initially seen as poor quality materials are actually not as bad in reality. They feel comfortable, and they’re super easy to use – simple as that.

I think the Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs have a good practical design overall BUT they need some adjustability! While they may work for most people, people who are shorter than average might have a problem actually reaching the cuffs while standing on the floor. Making the strap adjustable would be huge improvement! Other than that, the cuffs themselves look subtle and elegant with the colors. However, as mentioned, that slightly flimsy velboa fabric can make it look a little cheap after a few uses. The cuffs are still functional, soft, and sturdy. They may just look a tad flimsy.

The Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs are super easy to use! The velcro fastening makes them very easy to adjust to your wrists and easy to remove, making them extremely beginner-friendly. Of course, the handy over-the-door design is also delightfully easy to use, as you just put the metal bars over the door and close it, securing the straps in place. However, if you're much shorter than average, the Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs are not the easiest to use. Since there's no height adjustability in the Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs, they will only reach about 8.5" down your door. If your arms can't reach comfortably over that height, you might have to stand on something to use these cuffs. You could also just opt for a set of over-the-door cuffs that are adjustable!

Here's the thing. I wouldn't say that the Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs are bad quality. They seem pretty sturdy and durable when it all comes down to it. Again, I do think the velboa fabric makes it look like a lower quality product. Another thing is the lack of adjustability. I usually regard a product of higher quality when it takes diversity into account and has a more accessible design. The Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs could do with some minor improvements in this area.

The Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs are some of the most affordable sexual restraints out there! If you're just starting to dip your toe into at-home bondage, standing bondage, or even curious to see if you might enjoy having a full-blown St. Andrew's cross, you might wanna try these out first. Good news is they won't break the bank while you're dipping your toes into kinky waters!

All in all, I do think that the Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs lived up to the expectations I had and the descriptions available online. Luckily, there was no height issue and the cuffs themselves were comfortable and relatively sturdy. They definitely got the job done by providing a secure attachment once the door was closed. I did note that some users were hoping that the cuffs themselves could be detached from the door straps and used on their own. However, this isn't possible. So, keep in mind that these little guys are solely for over-the-door or under-the-door play!

The packaging for the Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs is quite simple, yet it effecrtively conveys most of the information you need about these bad boys. There are a few nice visuals there help you understand exactly how simple the over-the-door cuffs are to use. There are also some visual to provide some information as for the different ways you could use them. Inside the box, the cuffs themselves are wrapped in a little plastic bag.

The sturdy straps are made of durable polypropylene webbing with nickelfree metal hardware. The cuffs themselves are made of soft velboa fabric with velcro fastenings. The over-the-door function is secured with two plastic tubes and caps attached to the nylong webbing. Unfortunately, it's not possible to detach the cuffs from the straps for separate cleaning. So, to keep all the materials nice and clean, you can wipe down the nylon and metal with a damp cloth or remove the plastic tubes and throw the cuffs in the washing machine!

  • Lightweight & easily portable
  • Easy to use
  • Very comfortable
  • Beginner-friendly

  • Not adjustable
  • Cuffs aren't removable for independent use
  • Lower quality materials

When it all comes down to it, I would definitely recommend the Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs. While they do have some minor flaws to improve on in terms of adjustability (and thereby accessibility) and the somewhat flimsy-looking velboa fabric, I still think these over-the-door cuffs are great for curious kinksters. They're super affordable, very easy to use, ideal for bringing with you on the go, machine washable, and pretty much compatible with any kind of door you would have at home. Want to elevate your current bondage play? Trust me, with the Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs, there's so much more room for (spicy) activities!

There is no user manual available for the Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs because they’re fairly simple to use. Secure the velcro cuffs around your wrists or ankles. Then slide the strap over or under the door with the plastic tubes anchoring the straps on the opposite side. Close the door and make sure that your straps are secure. No further installation required!

The Sportsheets Door Jam Cuffs are compatible with most indoor doors. The thin straps still have to fit between the door itself and the door frame. So it will work with most doors that still have that small gap.

This is very easy! For a quick clean you can simply wipe down and the materials with a damp cloth. For a more thorough cleaning, you can remove the plastic tubes and throw the straps and cuffs in the washing machine!

Anyone who wants to! Anyone who feels like being tied up their doorframe and enjoy as good time. However, because of the lack of adjustability in the straps, it may not be suitable for people who are much shorter than average, is it could be difficult to actually reach the straps once their on the door.
