Pegging Toys: 6 Best Pegging Dildos, Strap-ons and More

   Cassie Mørch
As a sex toy expert I know exactly which products to look for when it comes to pegging. I know which dildos are best suited for first-time peggers. I know which type of harness to recommend and which materials to go for. Furthermore, I’ve consulted with our Tester Team to figure out which products stand out for their quality, ease of use, and overall performance. I’ll be including some insights from their in-depth review as I go over each product.

I picked out the Desire Luxury Vibrating Strap-On Kit as the Test Winner for this review because it’s a high quality kit that has everything you need to explore pegging. The harness even comes with three different sizes of o-rings so you can use it with other dildos you already have at home or may purchase in the future. Our tester, Peter, really enjoyed his experience with this kit. He found that “the quality is great” and appreciated the “packaging and smart zip case to keep the toy in and protect when not in use”. The harness itself is made from durable nylon and has fully adjustable sections to customiza the fit around the thigs and waist. According to Peter and his wife, the range of adjustability makes the harness fit “from a slim person all the way up to the fuller figure ladies”. As far as the vibration goes, the sensations were incredibly pleasurable. “When my wife did take control, it put me in absolute heaven with its powerful vibration and nice size. It definitely made me squirm around in extreme pleasure.” The wireless remote control is also a nice plus as that makes it easier to change the settings while you are using the toy.

Introducing the Lovense Lapis as our Runner-Up. This pegging dildo is much more than just strap-on. It’s a strapless strap-on with a unique design that can stimulate both wearer and receiver and send impressive vibrations through both ends. Lovense products also feature app control so you can change the vibrations in both parts of the toy with your device! After trying it out, our tester, Joseph, could conclude that it’s “a fantastic choice for a strap-on accessory. The motor is strong but quiet, the patterns are highly customizable, you can adjust the fit, and the material feels just like skin once it’s warmed up.” Although the biggest drawback is that is doesn’t stay in very easily. While it can be used without a harness, Joseph found that it required a lot more grip to keep it in. “When I used it without a harness, I ended up needing to hold it in place with one hand so it didn’t slip out, which didn’t ruin the mood but was annoying”. Using it in a harness helps you focus on enjoying the experience better. Still, the sensations that this Lovense Lapis delivers are worth having to use the harness. Joseph first let their partner use it on them, “and boy let me tell you, it felt amazing. I could feel the motor all through my whole body even on the lowest setting”. The ridges at the base of the shaft are great for the wearer to rub up against, “and the shaft itself also has a gentle ripple design that feels amazing for the person the toy is being used on.”

3 Budget-Friendly

The Tantus Silk Medium is one of our more simple and beginner-friendly pegging dildos. It’s one the cheapest good quality pegging dildos that we’ve reviewed here at Bedbible. So just because you’re on a budget, you won’t have to compromise with the quality of your pegging experience. Even though our tester, Kasia, tried it out primarily for vaginal penetration, she concluded that this shape and size was better suited for anal play and pegging in particular. In terms of the design, it’s completely smooth and has a uniform diameter along the whole shaft. I think this shape is perfect for anal play since Kasia also found that “the insertion went so quickly, even without a lube”. It has a slightly curved shaft that and the feel of the silicone itself is “flexible, but the core is firm, so I had no problem reaching the G-spot”. Of course, this also translates into how well the Tantus Silk Medium could target the prostate during pegging. For such a simple dildo, I would have loved to see a suction cup base. This would make it a lot more versatile for solo play. Luckily, the flared, rounded base is still perfect to strap into a harness.

4 Best For Beginners

Fun Factory Limba Flex M

 Fun Factory Limba Flex

Fun Factory Limba Flex

  • Slim silicone dildo with a tapered tip
  • Poseable shaft
  • Suction cup base

  • Tapered tip makes insertion very easy and comfortable
  • Poseable shaft makes it incredibly versatile
  • Suction cup base is incredibly strong

  • Surface attracts dust and lint very easily
  • Tapered tip may not provide intense prostate massage
Fun Factory Limba Flex

Insertable length6.8 inches
Diameter1.26 inches

Even though the Fun Factory Limba Flex M doesn’t have the smallest diameter out of all of the pegging dildos in this review, I would still recommend it as the best option for beginners. It still has a very small girth of 1.26 inches. The super tapered tip also makes insertion a lot more comfortable for those who don’t have much experience with anal play. What really stands out to me about this pegging dildo is the adjustable. You can pose the dildo to whichever shape and angle you prefer, and it will holds its shape during penetration. This is a great feature since you can customize the kind of internal stimulation you’re looking for. It’s also a plus if you want to share this dildo with a partner who has other erogenous zones to target. For our tester, Mike, the modular nature of the dildo is what he appreciated most: “Depending on what my partner is in the mood for, we can easily bend and shape it to accommodate her desires. This adaptability is a significant advantage, as it allows us to explore various angles and positions to find what suits her best.” As far as the cons go, Mike added that “while the material feels wonderful, it has a propensity to pick up lint, which can be a minor annoyance.” Having tried a few Fun Factory dildo myself, I know that this can be a bit off-putting. Although, it’s nothing a quick rinse before use won’t take care of.

The Fun Factory ShareVibe Pro is my Expert Pick of this review. I really like the vibrations in Fun Factory toys in general and, thanks to our tester, Jess, I know how big of an upgrade this model is from the original Fun Factory ShareVibe. The dildo is slightly girthier but features an ergonomic shape with a bit of bulbous tip for added prostate pleasure. “The Pro was easier to peg without a harness due to the adjustable hinge” and the unique (and girthy) shape of the insertable pony. Being able to adjust the hinge according to your bodies makes a huge difference in how well it stays in place during use. As far as the girth goes, “depending on the shape your vagina (it) could be uncomfortable if you do not get it placed correctly at first. I did have a little bit of a learning curve with placement for myself.” A small bonus of the adjustable hinge is that Jess was able “to use it as a standard vibrating dildo with a handle, as well as a dildo with clitoral stimulation by closing the hinge more and pushing the other end into the clit.” As far the vibration goes, Fun Factory states that Share Vibe Pro offers natural-feeling thrusting and has the strongest motor of any double dildo on the market. In her review, Jess concluded that she thinks “it 100% lives up to those promises.” She was even “amazed at the sound level, given the strength of them.”

6 Best Pegging Harness

  • Lingerie-style strap-on harness
  • Lace inserts at the sides and an open-back design

  • Elastic O-ring fits dildos up to 1.6 inches in diameter.

  • Elegant and sexy design
  • Open back design allows wearer to enjoy some anal play

Harness SizeWaist: (S) 26.7, (M) 28.3, (L) 29.9, (XL) 31.4, (2XL) 32.28 inches

Last but certainly not least is my top recommendation for a good quality strap-on harness that both feels comfortable and looks incredibly sexy. This is the perfect harness for leaning into that elegant pegging aesthetic! The Strap-On-Me Diva Lingerie Harness even has removable garter straps so you customize to your preferred level of ‘dressing up’. For our tester, Isabelle, her partner  liked how it actually looked like lingerie “and had a cut out back as it allowed me to also have some extra fun while wearing it! Perfect for pairing with a cute butt plug.” “The dildo sits well in the harness but does require a little stabilization, because the fabric can stretch as you thrust.” That said, this is often the case with strap-ons made of fabric rather than nylon or leather. It offers pretty good value for money since it’s so comfortable to wear and easy to put on and take off. It’s not adjustable but is available in multiple sizes (S, M, L, XL, & 2XL). However, as a plus-size person I would have loved to see a wider range in sizes. All in all, I think the Strap-On-Me is a great strap-on harness for anyone looking for their first strap-on or an elegant and sexy strap-on for occasional use. “I love the design, comfort, easy of use and think I feel amazing wearing it!”.

Different Types of Pegging Strap-Ons

There are a lot of different pegging strap-ons on the market; therefore, I have written down a small guide that hopefully will come in handy.
  • Harness Strap-Ons: (most popular) A harness strap-on features a harness that is worn around the waist and thighs with a dildo attached. The harness is usually adjustable for different body sizes, and the dildos are interchangeable, so you can explore different shapes and sizes for your anal play.
  • Strapless Strap-Ons: These are designed to be worn without a harness. The most popular type of strapless strap-on is when one end of the dildo is inserted into the vagina or anus of the wearer, and the other end is used to penetrate the partner. They are gaining popularity because strapless strap-ons can stimulate both the wearer and the receiver; however, they are not as comfortable and easy to use as classic harness strap-ons.
  • Panty Strap-Ons: These strap-ons are built into a pair of underwear or shorts. They are usually more comfortable to wear and easier to use, and they have a more casual design than harness strap-ons but offer less adjustability.
  • Hollow Strap-Ons: These are designed to use with a penis. They feature a hollow dildo that can be worn over the penis. They can be used for men with erectile dysfunction or for those who want to increase the size of their penis.
  • Double Penetration Strap-Ons: These usually have two dildos attached to the harness, which allows you to explore simultaneous vaginal and anal penetration. There are also different designs with only one dildo and a ring for a penis, so you can freely penetrate your partner and use a dildo for DP.
  • Vibrating Strap-Ons: A vibrating strap-on can have a dildo with a built-in vibrating motor, or there is an extra bullet vibrator that you can place inside the dildo or in the top pocket of the harness for a delicate buzz.

Good to Know:

  • Harness: A supportive structure that wraps around your waist, butt, or genitals. It holds the dildo in place, allowing you to play hands-free. Harnesses come in various styles and materials, including leather, fabric, or PVC, and they often have adjustable straps for a comfortable fit. Some harnesses also have pockets for bullet vibrators to enhance the experience.
  • O-ring: This is a ring, typically made of metal, rubber, or plastic, that is attached to the harness. The dildo is inserted through the O-ring, which holds it firmly in place during use. O-rings come in different sizes to accommodate various dildo sizes, and some harnesses have interchangeable O-rings for versatility.
  • P-Spot: This refers to the prostate, an erogenous zone located in the male anus. When stimulated, the P-spot can lead to intense orgasms. Some dildos are specifically designed with a curved/bulbous shape to target the P-spot.
  • G-Spot: This is a sensitive area located on the front wall of the vagina. Similar to the P-spot, the G-spot can produce powerful orgasms when stimulated. Many dildos have curved or angled shapes for better and deeper G-spot stimulation.
  • Bullet Vibrator: A small vibrator that can be used to add extra stimulation during sex. Bullet vibrators can be used for clitoral, anal, or nipple stimulation. Some strap-on harnesses have special pockets where a bullet vibrator can be inserted, providing additional pleasure for the wearer during strap-on play.

What Types of Pegging Dildos Are There?

There is a huge range of dildos and strap-ons on the market today, and it can pretty intimidating to find the ones that are right for you. With so many shapes and sizes and odds and ends, which types are best for what? Here’s a quick, and by no means exhaustive, list of some of the most common types of pegging dildos you’ll encounter:

The Slim Beginner

The Slim Beginner - What Types of Pegging Dildos Are There?
Beginners to pegging and strap-on play should consider starting with a slimmer, smoother type of dildo. These types of pegging dildos are less realistic than others, with a rounded head and a smaller size. They’re still great at stimulating all the right spots, but will be easier for first-timers – especially if you’re going the anal route.

The Realistic Dildo

The Realistic Dildo - What Types of Pegging Dildos Are There?
Some love them, some hate them, but realistic styles of dildos are everywhere. The idea is to create a more penis-like sensation during penetration, which can be arousing for some people and really add to the kink factor during a role reversal. The extra texture can also lead to more stimulation for those who are more sensitive, just make sure to use plenty of lube.

The Double Trouble

The Double Trouble - What Types of Pegging Dildos Are There?
While traditional strap-ons are great in many ways, they generally don’t provide a lot of stimulation for the wearer beyond the psychological aspect. Double dildos, on the other hand, are a great way for both parties to get some penetration action. They vary widely in style and shape, but the basic idea is that one shaft goes into the wearer and the other into the receiver like normal.

The Vibrator

The Vibrator - What Types of Pegging Dildos Are There?
When simple thrusting isn’t enough to get you going, you could try adding some vibes to the mix with a vibrating pegging dildo or strap-on. Again, these can vary a lot in appearance, from dildos with slots in the base for a bullet vibrator to remote-control dildos. It’s often best to opt for one that has multiple levels of vibration intensity so that you can find what works best for you and your partner.

The Strapless

The Strapless - What Types of Pegging Dildos Are There?
Strapless strap-ons are pretty impressive looking toys. The idea of them is that one end is inserted into the vagina and held there whilst you penetrate your partner with the other end. In reality, they require a lot of pelvic floor strength and can be hard to find the right position for pleasure. However, once mastered, they can deliver an experience and sense of connection unlike any other. Many people recommend using them with a harness or pegging underwear to make them a little less unwieldy.

The Clit Stimulator

The Clit Stimulator - What Types of Pegging Dildos Are There?
It can be a struggle for wearers with a clitoris to feel super aroused during pegging if they’re not getting any clit stimulation at the same time. Fortunately, there are a lot of pegging dildos and strap-ons out there that offer just such a thing, including rabbit ears and vibrating bulges that tease the clitoris as you thrust. Many of these types of pegging toys are of the strapless variety, but not all.

Materials for Pegging Dildos

Materials are a pretty important consideration when buying any sex toy, but particularly when you’re buying something that you’re going to insert inside the body.
  • Silicone – Silicone is a good choice for a pegging dildo as it is a soft, easily insertable material that is super easy to clean. It is non-porous and non-toxic, does not degrade fast, and can hold temperature.
  • Glass and metal – People are often put off by the idea of such rigid materials being inserted into their anus, however not only are these materials completely body-safe, but they’re also great for pinpoint pleasure as they do not move around.
  • Hard plastic – just as glass and metal are great for pinpoint pleasure, hard plastic is too. It’s easy to clean, however, it won’t withstand heat so be careful!
Pegging dildos come in all kinds of different materials, so here’s a small guide to which could work best for you:

Silicone

Silicone - Materials for Pegging Dildos
We love silicone! It’s almost universally considered to be the best material for dildos and other sex toys. It’s soft, smooth and velvety to the touch, and is not porous, meaning that it’s easy to clean and slow to degrade. It’s also hypoallergenic! There are just a few things to consider with a silicone pegging dildo. Firstly, they’re usually pretty firm and not that bendy. There also require some special care to keep them in tip-top condition – avoid storing them with other silicone toys to prevent them from bonding accidentally, and only use them with water-based lubes.

Plastic/Jelly

Plastic/Jelly - Materials for Pegging Dildos
Yes, there are some plastic/PVC pegging dildos included in this list. Is it the best material for dildos? Not really. While plastic and jelly dildos are often cheaper and more flexible than their silicone peers, plastic is a porous material. This means that they’re harder to clean and quicker to degrade, and bacteria can accumulate that can’t be washed away at all! Also, some plastic toys contain phthalates, which are both caustic and carcinogenic (though we try our very best to only recommend phthalate-free products).

Glass

Glass - Materials for Pegging Dildos
Glass dildos can be kind of scary, especially for beginners, but they’re perfectly safe if used correctly. In fact, they’re easy to clean and often dishwasher-friendly. Glass pegging dildos are very firm, which can be stimulating for the receiver but may mean that the wearer is a little less comfortable. Just make sure to handle them carefully – they can’t be used once they’re chipped or cracked.

What Will You Get In a Pegging Kit?

Let’s take a look at a few of the key items that you’re going to find in your pegging kit, and explore what they do!
  • Dildo – One of the most important features of a pegging kit is the dildo! After all, how can you peg without one! You will find that every strap on kit comes with its own dildo (maybe more than one, in some instances).
  • Harness – You need something to strap the dildo into so the pegging can take place. That’s where the strap-on harness comes in. It allows you to firmly and comfortably strap the dildo to your body. The harness will have straps around your hips, thigh, and/or butt to secure the pegging action. You can also get brief-style harnesses!
  • O-ring – These rings allow you to slip the length of your dildo through them while holding the base of it securely over the crotch of the wearer. It’s what physically secures the dildo to the strap. O-rings come in various sizes (depending on the dildo you have) and provide a firm and strong grip to the toy.
  • Bullet vibrator – Sometimes pegging gits even come with a bullet vibrator, which allows the wearer to get something out of it too! The bullet vibrator can also be used on your partner in all kinds of different ways. Not every kit comes with a vibrator though!

What to Look for in a Good Pegging Kit

As we mentioned, there are a lot of things included in pegging kits, but what do you need to look for in a more general sense? Here are a few things you need to bear in mind when shopping for your pegging kit!
  • Right size dildos – You want a dildo that’s comfortable for whoever will be taking it. You need to check both the length and girth of the toy, as you don’t want a dildo that is too long or wide for them to be able to handle! Keep an eye on the measurements and remember that it’s always better to start small and work your way up!
  • Silicone dildos – If you want a dildo that is body-safe then silicone is the way to go. Silicone strap ons are non-porous, meaning that they won’t harbor any bacteria or germs, making them easy to clean. Also, they feel very real and life-like!
  • Curved dildo – If you want to hit that P spot (prostate) while pleasuring your male partner, a curved dildo will help you do the trick. While it’s totally achievable with a straight one, it is still a little tricky. On the other hand curved dildos are shaped to head directly for that P spot!
  • Adjustable harness – When it comes to preparing for pegging you need a harness that is adjustable. You want it to fit right against your body so that you have plenty of control when moving. Adjustable harnesses also accommodate most body sizes, but there are also plus size strap-on harnesses available for larger people.
  • Comfortable harness – You need a harness that is comfortable. After all, you can’t have much fun if the straps are digging in or rubbing against you and causing you discomfort. Find a harness that is padded or coated in something that is more friendly to the body!

Finding the Best Pegging Dildo Harness

  • Size – Most harnesses are adjustable, but you’ll want to measure yourself before buying a harness to make sure everything fits. We want everyone to find the right fit so we’ve also found the best plus-size harnesses out there!
  • Materials – Polyester, polypropylene, leather, and spandex are all popular harness materials. Leather has a great aesthetic but is more difficult to clean and care for!
  • Style – harness with adjustable straps can be adjusted to fit your body. Underwear-style harnesses are easier to put on and can be more comfortable, but don’t offer as much support as a strap-style harness.

How to Use Pegging Dildos & the Best Sex Positions for Pegging

If you’re new to pegging and/or strap-on play, here’s a short guide to some positions to try out and get the best sensations from your toys…

Doggy-Style

Doggy-Style

This position allows you easy access to the the vagina or anus and you can slowly enter your partner at a speed and depth that is comfortable for them. You can make this more relaxing as the receiver by lying down and using a couple of pillows to raise your hips while your partner enters you.

Legs in the Air

Legs in the Air

This position allow the wearer to support the strap on and the receiving partner to stimulate their other hot spots with their hands for added stimulation. You can also pop some pillows under the receiving partner’s hips for added support.

Riding

 Riding

If you are the receiving partner, being on top puts you in control of how deep and fast you go and allows the wearer to steady the strap-on if necessary. You can try this with the wearer lying down (e.g. in cowgirl) or seated in a chair or the edge of the bed.

Standing

Standing

Similar to doggy-style, standing positions allow for easy access and adjustment of speed and depth. The receiver can steady themselves by holding on to a table or chair, or they can bend over it completely with some cushions to lean on. This position can also be great for power-play – toy with them first before holding onto their hips and going for it.

How to Clean a Pegging Dildo

As all of these pegging dildos contain different parts, always follow the manufacturers instructions for washing each individual part. Here’s a quick guide on what to expect: Harness: Most fabric harnesses can be washed in the washing machine unless they have vibrating elements or parts made of other materials. If you have a harness made of silicone, you can wash this with warm, soapy water and cloth, again paying attention to keep any electrical parts dry. Bullet vibrators: Unless the manufacturer explicitly states that the vibrator is waterproof, do not submerge your bullet vibrator in water. Instead, wipe it down with a damp, soapy cloth or sex toy cleaner. Dildos: This depends on the material. Check out our guide to washing different sex toy materials below.

FAQ

Pegging is the act of someone with a vagina penetrating someone with a penis; the penetrator usually wears a strap on dildo and penetrates the receivers anus. This can be extremely pleasurable for the receiver, especially if they have a prostate, as the dildo can cause prostate orgasms.

No matter your gender and genitalia, anyone can use a pegging dildo! The term 'pegging' is usually known as the act of a woman penetrating a man, however this doesn't restrict anyone experiencing the pleasures of pegging.

Totally! As well as being fun, pegging is safe as long as you're taking precautions: not being too rough, and using a dildo size that's comfortable. A dildo that's too big can cause damage and chafing.

A beginner's pegging dildo should ideally be pretty slim and smooth, and not too long. Think around 1 inch in diameter or 3 inches in circumference. The length you want will really depend on the receiver, but 5 inches is a good place to start.

There's no subversion of gender roles there, so no. It would just be anal sex! In other words, strap on pegging is for women pegging men.

There are lots of different ways you can use a strap-on for pegging – it mostly depends on the dildo you're using and the position you're in. Check out our guides to different types of pegging dildos and possible positions above.

It depends on what you're after! We generally recommend against PVC and other porous materials, because they're harder to clean and can harbor some nasty bacteria. Silicone is a great non-porous material for beginners, because it's soft and body-safe. Once you're more advanced, materials like glass and metal can be great non-porous materials to experiment with!

This really depends on what you and your partner are most into! The best dildo for a beginner probably won't be the same as for a more experienced user, not to mention the differences depending on what parts you and your partner have!

Outwards! Just kidding – whether your pegging dildo should curve up or down depends on the position you're in. If you're pegging from behind, the dildo should curve downward to hit the prostate or the g-spot, but if the receiver is in cowgirl, it should curve upwards to hit the right spot.

We recommend around 5-6 inches in length and between 0,75-1,25 inches in girth when you're first starting out! You'll get to experience that full feeling, but it's not too overwhelming.

Whilst the psychological aspect of penetrating someone can be very arousing, if the stap-on wearer (be that someone with a vagina or not) isn't receiving any stimulation, they may find it hard to reach the big O. Many harnesses come with a pocket for a bullet vibrator for extra stimulation, or try a double dildo that penetrates the wearer, too.

The easiest way is to make a pair of harness underwear. You need a pair of very tight-fitting underwear and an O-ring that fits your chosen dildo. Place the O-ring where you want the dildo to sit and cut an X in the underwear inside it. Then stretch and stitch the fabric around the O-ring. For a visual aid, check out this great comic guide!

Pegging kits are for anyone who wants to enjoy it! Traditionally it is worn by women to penetrate their female partners or to anally stimulate their male partners. These kits can also be worn by men who lack endowment or can no longer enjoy erections. As long as you both enjoy it and feel comfortable!

Lube takes the friction out of pegging, but when it comes to anal sex, lube is absolutely essential. Unlike the vagina, the anus doesn't self-lubricate which means it could be painful when penetrated Silicone lube is one of the best lubes for anal because it's thicker and offers an extra cushion, as well as lasting longer than water-based lubes. However, remember that you can't use silicone-based lube with silicone toys as it can degrade them.

Depending on your toy, you should be using either water-based lube or silicone-based lube. Silicone lube cannot be used with silicone toys, as it breaks down the material.

A harness with interchangeable O-rings of various sizes will allow you to use lots of different sizes and shapes of dildo. This means you can use dildos that come with the kit, other toys from the brand and even some toys from your own collection.

What is a pegging toy (dildos, strap-ons, etc)?

A pegging dildo is any dildo that can be used for 'pegging', or penetrating a partner with a strap-on. They can be used with a harness or be strapless, and can allow you to transcend traditional sex boundaries to achieve intimacy and truly amazing orgasms. The act of pegging can provide amazing orgasms, especially for those with a prostate, and can be a great way to explore power play. Though the name 'pegging' is often associated with someone with a vagina penetrating someone with a penis, this is by no means a rule; anyone can enjoy the act of pegging, and prostate or not, can find pleasure within the act that works for them. A pegging strap on is any harness-compatible dildo used for pegging play. Often, these dildos are smaller and less girthy, as the anus doesn't stretch as much as the vagina does. Bigger sizes can be worked up to, of course!
