The Lovense Lapis is a high-end vibrating strap-on that is designed to be totally hands-free, though works best with a harness. It's made with luxurious silicone that is soft to the touch and three powerful motors, which have seven settings but can also each be fully customized with the app. It has an adjustable vibrating base that slides into the wearer and has some impressive staying power for harness-free use, but also can be used as a handle for a partner to grip onto if you choose to use it that way. I've received feedback saying it was very ergonomic.

Bottoming

I’ll say it, I’m not a top. The first time using the Lovense Lapis, I had my partner use it on me with their hands, since I was a bit intimidated to wear it at first. And boy let me tell you, it felt amazing. I could feel the motor all through my whole body even on the lowest setting, though climbing to the third (and fastest) steady vibration setting proved to be a bit too intense for me.

Topping

Using it to top was fun, and I did get some gendergood feelings about having a penis with no obvious straps holding it up, but it ran into the same issue that every double-ended strap has had for me; it doesn’t like to stay in. Even with how adjustable the insertable part is, and even with clenching like my life depended on it, it still needed a hand to hold it in place. While that’s not a unique problem when it comes to straps, it was a little disappointing that it didn’t live up to it’s branding as being “strapless”. Using it with a harness is fantastic, though. It really presses the ribbed bottom of the shaft against you, so you can feel just as much of the vibrations as your partner can.

Lovense Lapis -

I do love the design of the Lovense Lapis. The insertable base is thick, which is good for keeping it inside, but can be tricky actually inserting it if it's not fully lubed up or you're very tight. It has ridges at the base of the shaft to rub against the wearer, and the shaft itself also has a gentle ripple design that feels amazing for the person the toy is being used on. It only has the one power button to turn the Lapis on and cycle through the settings, which can be tricky to find, especially if you're already wearing it, but if you turn the toy on before you get going and use the app on your phone as a remote, it isn't a problem.

The Lapis is really straightforward to use, regardless of if you use a harness or not, though using it without a harness is going to require a lot more grip to keep it in. It operates like a classic vibrator, you press and hold the power button to turn it on and then press it each time you want to change the mode. And setting up the app is super easy. You can save your own customized presets, connect it to music, or use it as a remote with a bunch of different ways to control each motor's vibrations. The power button being so small and being at the base has caused me some issue, and if you have shaky hands or don't have a strong grip strength I can see that being a very big hurdle. Aside from carpal tunnel, I don't have any issues with my hands and even I struggled with it a few times.

Lovense Lapis -

The overall quality of the Lovense Lapis is amazing. It has good weight, the silicone is very soft to the touch, and while the motors are very strong they are also surprisingly quiet. I've been able to use this toy on the higher settings with my housemates none the wiser. The battery lasts a long time, and the charging chord is magnetic and strong. A big issue I have with magnetic chargers in general is that they tend to disconnect if jostled, but I haven't had that issue with this charger at all.

Even compared to most vibrating strapless strap-ons on the market, this is quite expensive. And while most come with their own remote, this one does not unless you connect it to your phone and use that. Though other similar toys on the market generally range $60-$200, this one comes to $259(from the Lovense website at the time of writing this review). I would still say that the Lapis blows them all out of the water in terms of quality. Even others that are made of silicone don't have the same skin-type feel as this one, and some are simply made of plastic. It also comes with a sizeable storage bag, though the material of it does seem a bit cheap considering the price of the toy itself.

Lovense Lapis -

The Lovense Lapis, while it can be used without a harness, really works best with one. When I used it without a harness, I ended up needing to hold it in place with one hand so it didn't slip out, which didn't ruin the mood but was annoying. Since it was advertised as strapless, I didn't want to cave and try it with a harness, but once I did it was so much more fun. You still get the vibration and friction of the toy, without having to concentrate on clenching to keep it in. The motor is quiet and has pretty much limitless settings(provided you've downloaded the app and paired the toy), and the charge lasts a long time, so I have no other critiques on the performance.

The packaging of the Lovense Lapis is simplistic. The box has a photo of the toy on the front along with a QR code to see a 3D animation of the toy. It has info on the materials the toy is made of on the bottom, and a brief summary of it on the back in six different languages, as well as info about the app that connects with the toy. Inside, you find the toy laying beside it's charger, a storage bag, and a small user manual. The manual is also in multiple languages, and has a QR code for the app as well as a brief care guide and suggested uses. I appreciated that the box was straightforward and didn't feel like it was trying too hard to sell me the product.

Care for the Lovense Lapis is super easy, since it's silicone and fully water proof. After using it, I filled my sink with some water and plopped it on in. I used liquid castile soap to wash it, making sure to scrub thoroughly around the power button and brand logo as it can trap material in the tiny crevices, rinsed it with cold water and let it air dry. I would avoid trying to towel dry it since the fibers can get stuck to the silicone of the toy. Once it was dry, I bent the base to be closer to the shaft and slipped it into it's storage bag. The bag is actually plenty big enough to leave the base adjusted as far out as you want, but I like to keep my toys as small as possible when I store them.

The Lapis from Lovense is a fantastic choice for a strap-on accessory. The motor is strong but quiet, the patterns are highly customizable, you can adjust the fit, and the material feels just like skin once it's warmed up. The drawback is that it's not really great... strapless. I tried it both with and without a harness, and while using it on it's own is okay, it really didn't want to stay in place and kept sliding out. Which is a pretty big drawback, considering a big selling point is that it's a "strapless" strap-on. Still, it is a very high quality toy and I do recommend it for anyone looking for a luxurious double-ended accessory.

You can find the user manual by searching “Lovense Lapis user manual”, or by clicking through to this link to their website.

Well, yes. It's designed to be totally hand-free and used without a harness, since the shape of the base bulb is curved and meant to fit snugly inside of the vagina. However, if you are a larger person or don't want to have to power-grip the base the whole time, I really recommend it's used with a harness.

While it has a nice weight to it, according to the website it's actually the lightest strapless strap-on on the market. The weight isn't the issue when it comes to my struggles to use it strapless, as it's more the motion of using with a partner that has caused it to slip out for me.

Yes! You can use it to bottom, but you can also use it with your hands to top your partner. You won't be able to use it as a strap for something like double penetration, since the base bulb would get in the way of wearing it.

Not at all! Since the toy is waterproof and all one piece, it's super easy to clean with whatever toy-safe soap you have on hand. You do need to pay extra attention to cleaning the power button and inlaid brand name around the base, since the tiny crevices will trap fluids and bacteria.
