  • Have tried a cock ring before.
  • Like powerful vibrations.
  • Want a cock ring with different vibration options.
  • Want a simple and easy to operate toy.

  • Have a smaller than average penis girth. The ring has one size option.
  • Want smart features such as an app connection.
  • Have never used a cock ring before.

The Tenga SVR (Smart Vibe Ring) is a great take on the cock ring! It is sleek, versatile, and works as advertised very well. This silicone cock ring has a nice variety of vibration speeds and two vibration patterns which all proved to be very pleasurable to both myself and my partner. The ring itself was a perfect size and did not constrict too much nor was it too loose where it was moving around. Overall, the Tenga SVR was a very impressive and competitively priced high end cock ring. Read on to learn more about the testing process!

Initial Impressions

Before using the Tenga SVR, I was thoroughly impressed by the packaging and presentation and knew that I would have a good experience testing the toy. It arrived in a small box with neatly folded instructions in their own compartment along with an oval shaped plastic case containing the Tenga SVR. This toy was smooth and soft to the touch and the cock ring felt as though it could stretch to meet many penis sizes. On top of the cock ring was a long oval shaped vibrator with a single button at the base controlling the power, as well as the various vibration types. As I read through the instructions, I learned that the name, Tenga SVR, is an acronym for Smart Vibe Ring. I did not see any smart features associated with the toy such as an app connection.

Before Use

Before use, the instructions listed that the Tenga SVR should be charged fully before each use. Thinking that the toy had lost some battery life while in shipment, I connected the toy to charge. The Tenga SVR shipped with a USB cable with a unique end to plug into the cock ring. It did not come with a wall charger, though most standard USB phone chargers for a phone would be suitable. The instructions also note that the Tenga SVR can be plugged into the USB port of a computer using the included cable. I then cleaned the Tenga SVR with a toy cleaner.

First Use

I tried the Tenga SVR with my partner and, like most cock rings, I slid it on using plenty of lube. To turn on the Tenga SVR, we held down the power button at the base of the toy just above the ring. When powering on, the toy started to vibrate at the slowest speed and each subsequent press of the button would change the vibration option. There were five vibration speeds, each getting progressively faster and after those, there were two vibration patterns. We felt that it was easiest for my partner to reach and press the button to change the speeds during use. Each vibration type was very nice and the strength of the vibrations was surprisingly powerful. We preferred the stronger vibrations but didn’t feel that the slowest vibration was took weak. In addition, the cock ring allowed me to feel many of the vibrations as well, making it doubly enjoyable for both people. The Tenga SVR stayed in place and it was simple to keep the vibrator against my partner without it moving out of position.

The Tenga SVR is made of silicone and was very soft to touch. Looking at the cock ring portion of the toy, I found that it was of perfect size for an average girth penis and was easy to get on and off. I also liked that the edges of the ring were wide — some cock rings are quite thin. The vibrating portion of the Tenga SVR was easy to control with one button and my partner was able to change vibration speeds while I wore it. The oval shaped design of the vibrating portion of the toy was long enough to reach my partner; some vibrating cock rings look to be smaller and the added length was nice as it ensured that vibration was always felt.

A single button controls vibration speed as well as power to the toy, making it very simple to use. There are five speeds as well as two vibration rhythms and if after using the toy you find a favorite setting, it is simple to switch to it before each use. If you prefer to play around with the vibrations during use, an up and down set of buttons might have been nice. The one button design is perfect for anyone with mobility or grip issues and it is large enough to find by touch without looking for it.

The Tenga SVR is impressive in terms of quality. I have tried a $10 vibrating cock ring in the past and there really is no comparison; the Tenga SVR is well worth it. When testing the toy, the Tenga SVR had very powerful vibrations and the cock ring itself was smooth and easy to get on. In terms of sound, the Tenga SVR had more of a muffled rumble without any loud buzzing. Even the strongest vibration settings were not very loud in comparison to a Hitachi Magic Wand.

If you are looking for a cock ring, there are plenty out there for $20 or less. I'd even suggest choosing a cheap cock ring with good reviews first if you've never used one and if you like it, I'd definitely recommend investing in the Tenga SVR. For experienced users, the Tenga SVR is well worth the money and sits at a comfortable price point between other high end cock rings such as one by Lelo or We-Vibe.

The Tenga SVR was an great toy to test and lives up to the high product reviews on Lovehoney.com. In our experience, my partner and I enjoyed all of the vibration settings; none were too powerful or overly weak. In addition to the vibrations, the pressure of the cock ring itself was nice and was not too tight or loose. In general, the vibrations produced a sort of muted rumbling sound. Even at the highest vibration setting, it did get louder but it was not as loud as other toys such as the Hitachi Magic Wand. After use, the Tenga SVR did get slightly warm but I was barely noticeable and the battery was still going strong after one use. Tenga lists in the instructions that the cock ring should be fully charged before each use and after our first use, it took 30 minutes to bring it back up to full battery power.

The Tenga SVR was wrapped up nicely in a small rectangular box which wasted no space, while keeping everything protected inside. The Tenga SVR itself was placed inside of a hard plastic case which was nice to have for storing the toy in the future. All other pieces were under a pull tab which reminded me of opening up a smartphone or other high quality electronic product. On the outside of the packaging, Tenga included a photo of the toy as well as some written product information on the side in small font. To learn how to use the toy, I read the included instruction booklet which was fairly detailed.

The cock ring was made entirely of silicone which is body-safe, non-porous, and waterproof. It can be cleaned with soap and water or toy cleaner (which I opted to use). Cleaning the Tenga SVR was as simple as spraying toy cleaner on and rinsing it off before drying it. It dried surprisingly quickly and afterward I placed it in the included hard plastic case. I was very happy by how soft the cock ring was even after washing it.

Tenga SVR -

  • Sleek and aesthetically pleasing
  • Stimulates both partners
  • Is a good fit for average girth size
  • Quick charging time
  • Powerful vibrations

  • Storage case did not have room for the cable
  • A USB C charging cable would have been nice
  • There are no 'smart' features, like app controls

Overall, the Tenga SVR was an impressive product. The cock ring part of the toy felt soft and it was perfect in terms of size; not too loose or tight. I tried each of the five vibration speeds and two vibration rhythms and found all of them to be enjoyable both for my partner and myself (I could feel the vibrations through the ring). I only found a couple of areas that could be improved upon such as using a USB-C connection as a more universal type of charging cord. I also would have liked space to store the cord along with the toy in the included case. However, those areas really were very small in comparison to the capability and design of the Tenga SVR. In short, it is an elegantly designed, higher end cock ring with very nice vibrations.

A user manual for the Tenga SVR is available here on their website.

After being used for a little over 15 minutes, the Tenga SVR took 20 minutes to charge.

The Tenga SVR is a higher end cock ring and as a result, it is more expensive. If you have more money to spend, it would make a great first impression. However, for most users, I'd recommend trying a more basic cock ring first and then purchasing the Tenga SVR as an upgrade.

The Tenga SVR has five vibration speeds and two vibration rhythms. One can also put their fingers in the cock ring to use it as a handheld vibrator.

The toy is controlled using one button. This button acts as the power button as well as the place to cycle through all of the vibration options. It sits just above the ring (at the base of the vibrating portion of the toy).

The first vibration pattern feels like a very quick pulse and the second pattern feels sort of like a slower 'in and out' sensation. The continuous vibration speeds all feel powerful and strong.

SVR stand for Smart Vibe Ring. Besides the fact that the toy is rechargeable, there are no smart features such as an app connection.
