CBD Curious
I’ve been looking to try a CBD sex oil for some time now. I’ve taken CBD orally in the past but didn’t notice much of an effect, so I’m curious if my clit will be more receptive to it! That being said, I’m also a bit skeptical companies just jumping on the CBD bandwagon. While it’s clear that CBD and THC (the active compounds in cannabis) can have some great medicinal qualities, I also know that companies make some pretty bold claims about what their CBD products are capable of. It’s also worth noting that there’s a lot of variation in terms of CBD concentration in different products and there will be a difference between lubes/oils that only contain CBD and ones that also have TCH (the stuff that gets you high). Still, I entered this review with a lot of curiosity!Waste Not, Want Not
The first time I tried this oil was actually while I was making the video. Having squirted some out on to my hand, I thought I better not waste it, especially considering the price! I applied it to my vulva and carried on taking pictures and thought I’d just see it it had any noticeable effect by itself without any arousal or further stimulation. I was a bit disappointed as there wasn’t much effect at all. That being said the oil had a nice sensual glide and didn’t leave me feeling sticky at all. As this is called an arousal oil, I assumed it would have a noticeably stimulating effect. However, after looking at the ingredients, I couldn’t see anything that would create any tingling or warming effect. It seems that the main active ingredient is the CBD. With all of those lovely oils, it feels a bit like a fancy face-care but for your vulva!Scented and Sensual but Not Stimulating
I tried it a second time, this time with my partner in a more sexy context! I wasn’t shy with the oil either! I probably used five pumps (I hate to think of the price per pump!), but I wanted to see if a good dose would have any effect. The oil felt lovely as it was massaged in and it definitely added a more sensual feel than a regular water-based lube, but I didn’t notice any effect from the CBD. We also used some on him to see if he’d feel anything. While we both enjoyed the fancy handjob, neither of us picked up on any heightened arousal or sensation. I did enjoy the slight scent from the essential oils, although I do tend to avoid using anything scented on my vulva.I think the bottle has simple but elegant design that's cute enough to earn a spot next on my night stand! The oil itself is like a clear serum with a herbal scent. Of all the essential oils, the clove smell comes through the strongest giving it an almost christmassy scent. I would say the scent is noticeable but not particularly strong.
The pump can be a little stiff and can sometimes spray out a bit unpredictably. I would have much preferred a dropper style bottle like some of the other Bijoux Indiscrets arousal oils as it's easier to control. Bijoux Indiscrets write that you can use the oil while using sex toys, but I would be a bit cautious about using oil with silicone sex toys. You should also keep in mind that it's not compatible with latex or polyisoprene condoms, and it's not ingestible, so you can't use it for oral sex. Bijoux Indiscrets do have an Oral Sex Oil with CBD, though.
I'm impressed that the ingredients are all natural and there are no synthetic fragrances or parabens! I did knock some points off, as it contains glycerin which can potentially encourage yeast infections, especially if you are prone to them. I would have liked there to be more of a noticeably arousing effect, either from a stronger CBD concentration or other oils for added sensation.
I would say that the price is fairly high for an arousal oil but it seems fairly average for CBD oil or lube. While I enjoyed how the oil felt, I wouldn't be willing to pay over $45 for such a small bottle without there being more of an arousing effect. That being said, a little goes a long way so I can see this lasting quite some time.
Unfortunately, this CBD Arousal Oil didn't live up to my expectations, as it didn't have much of an arousing or stimulating effect. It did feel lovely to use, but I think this was down to it being a nice oil lube rather than any noticeable effects from the CBD. While I will definitely use the rest of the bottle for yoni massages, it's not something I would buy again as I feel a regular, high-quality, oil lubricant without the CBD and accompanying price tag would have the same effect.
The box has a sensual but tasteful design. It gives it a luxurious and indulgent feel. I appreciate when companies put a bit of effort into packaging as first impressions can help get you in the mood!
I was pretty impressed by the ingredient list of the Bijoux Indiscrets Arousal Oil and liked that they are all natural ingredients, and it's vegan and cruelty-free. The oil is made with skin nourishing oils, including olive oil, shea butter, soy bean oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, rose hip oil, argon oil, and crambe seed oil. It also Centella Asiatica, Calendula and Chamomilla plant extracts for their skin soothing and repairing qualities. The pleasant aroma comes from the lavender, clove leaf, and orange peel oil. These oils also provide antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

- Great ingredients
- Pleasant scent
- Thick, nourishing oil
- Not very noticeable effect
- Contains glycerin
- Low CBD concentration
If this hadn't been marketed as an arousal oil, I might have been more impressed by it. The name suggested that it would have some kind of stimulating effect, which wasn't the case for me. I'm not sure if this is due to it being a low concentration of CBD at just 1% or if I'm just not that sensitive to the effects of CBD. So while I did really like the feel of the oil and it has some great ingredients, I think the price is too high for something that didn't enhance sex beyond what any regular oil lubricant would.
