  • Want some extra cushioning when wearing a strap-on
  • Enjoy grinding for stimulation
  • Like velvety-smooth silicone

  • Don't have a strap-on harness
  • Don't have a dildo around the size or smaller than 3.25 inches
  • Or your partner(s) don't enjoy grinding

Who doesn’t love a little extra cushioning? A little add-on to make sex that much more comfortable while also getting pleasure out of it? That’s what makes the Bumpher Dildo Base Cushion perfect! This dildo base cover provides extra padding for the wearer, so no more digging suction cups, as well as a curvy contour for them to grind into their partner while getting stimulated themselves. The Bumpher secures around the suction cup of most standard dildo bases and is great to use with open o-ring and underwear strap-on harnesses. Its super soft and squishy silicone will have you feeling at ease during your next strap-on sesh!

Cushion Your Body

When I usually use suction cup dildos in a strap-on, I have trouble with the suction cup pressing hard into my mons pubis, which feels wicked uncomfortable. The Bumpher Dildo Base Cushion was just what I needed to fix that issue! For someone who isn’t much of a grinding-fan, this toy was more useful and practical than it was stimulating. However, that cushiony soft feel was nice alone! I really love the silicone used in the Bumpher Dildo Base Cushion, and the pillow feel of the cushion made wearing a harness so much more comfortable. But, if you are a person with more sensitive genitalia and prefer to grind, then this could be a great toy for you to try.

Pleasure Central – If You Do It Right

By adding the Bumpher to a toy (I used the Wet For Her Rainbow Strap-On Dildo), it did throw off the balance of them a bit. While it was a great cushion and made it much more comfortable for penetrating another person, it didn’t add a lot of stimulation with the ridges unless I was pressing really hard, which isn’t as comfortable. Plus, it kept sliding out of place and flipping sideways in the harness once the BumpHer Dildo Base Cushion was on. I think it’s because the o-ring of the harness wasn’t fitting as tightly on the dildo? It’s hard to say. Even so, when the dildo and BumpHer were in the right place, and when applying the right pressure, it was super comfortable and felt pleasurable to grind against!

I Think Marketing Matters

I love to test all kinds of toys, no matter their target audience. In this case, I’d consider myself to be part of the target audience of this toy as someone wanting a cushion for when I use a strap-on harness. While the company that makes the toy, Banana Pants, calls it the Bumpher, many other sites selling the item use the name BumpHer. It’s hard to tell which one it’s supposed to be. But, as I’m going off of the Wet For Her site, if it’s meant to be BumpHer then this could be othering to trans customers. Even if the description on Wet For Her says that it’s “designed to be enjoyed by lesbians, bisexuals, transgender, and gender non-conforming folk,” it doesn’t feel that way with a name like BumpHer. It’s a great design and super useful to all kinds of folks, so I wish it was more inclusive in its language. Maybe I’m just being nitpicky.

The Bumpher design is super cool. I love that it’s made from super soft silicone, it's extra cushiony to make harness wearing much more comfortable! Especially if your dildo has a hard base, this makes the wearer feel more at ease. I think it’s good to mention that the bumps weren’t that stimulating when grinding, so it could have been better to choose a different texture from the range. But its design is cute and simple, a great addition for anyone needing that extra bump for their harness wearing.

It was a little tricky to slip the Bumpher Dildo Base Cushion onto some of the larger-based toys I have. If your dildos are averaged sized and the bases aren’t overly thick, you should be good to go! Once the Bumpher was on snugly to the base of the dildo in a harness, it did move around a bit and twist on the toy, and the toy twisted around in the harness even though it hadn’t before. A little awkward, and potentially difficult for folks with mobility issues.

It hasn’t ripped yet, and I’ve slid it onto some larger bases! The quality is great. I can’t get over the cushion aspect of it and love how thick and squishy it feels. I feel like the hilly bumps to grind on aren’t universally pleasurable for folks, but otherwise I’d consider it a great quality toy that anyone can use! There are also a few other textures available, such as the Lippi.

Personally, I don’t think the Bumpher Dildo Base Cushion is worth the price. As something that’s meant to be used as an addition to a dildo, why is it around the same price as one? Personally, I’d be more open to recommending it to folks if it were half the price it is now, especially since the design wasn’t as stimulating as I thought it’d be. Still, it’s a good quality toy and if you struggle with uncomfortable dildo bases when wearing a strap-on harness, then this might be a good fit for you.

Bumpher -

The Bumpher, for me, performed half of its duties. It was a great cushion for the harness, but didn’t quite give the stimulation I was hoping for with the bumps to grind on. Soft and comfortable, yes, and maybe those bumps are perfect for other users. But for that price? It didn’t live up to my expectations performance-wise.

Bumpher -

The packaging for the Bumpher Dildo Base Cushion was damaged. The toy arrived with the flap open, box partially crushed. It was a pain to get the toy out of the box without damaging it further. Plus, I don’t like that the toy is called the Bumpher due to the gendered nature for a toy that’s supposedly meant for a wide variety of bodies and identities. But, it’s a cute box with a graphic to show how it fits onto a dildo base and shows the buyer the specifications so you know it’ll be a fit for you and your toys.

Clean your Bumpher Dildo Base Cushion with warm water and soap! It’s 100% silicone and since there’s a hole that may be awkward to clean by hand, so you can stick it in boiling water for three minutes to disinfect it a little easier. Make sure to only use water-based lubes.

  • Extra cushioned and soft silicone
  • Easy to use design
  • Versatile for those who want it for the cushion aspect or the grinding aspect

  • Pricey for a toy add-on
  • The texture isn't as great for grinding for some
  • Only fits toys with bases up to 3.25 inches

The Bumpher Dildo Base Cushion is a nice addition to your suction cup dildos. It's fairly easy to use, made of soft silicone, and will cushion your strap-on wearing well. While it is a bit pricey, if you prioritize comfort when wearing a harness, then this is a great toy for you.

There is no user manual available for the Bumpher, but check out the How To guide for some tips!

The Bumpher Dildo Base Cushion is used for the wearer of a strap-on harness to stimulate themselves while penetrating someone. Or, it's a great pillowy add-on for a bit more comfort as many strap-on dildo bases are hard and stiff against the wearers' body.

Just slip the cushion onto the base of your favorite dildo, strap it into a harness, and you're good to go! Be sure to check out our How To tips above if you want even more ideas.

While trickier to maneuver, you can use the Bumpher on its own to grind on if you like texture play.
