The 5 Best Soft Dildos for Squishes to Make You Squeal

   Cassie Mørch
Dildos are an essential part of my sex life (both solo and partnered). So I’ve tried and tested all sorts of dildos out there, and I know who amazing soft dildos can feel. While they won’t deliver the most intense internal massage, they’re great for gentle thrusting, double-penetration, and creating a full sensation without completely stretching you out. With the help of our Bedbible testers, I’ll be introducing you to some of our favorite soft dildos out there.

The Vixen Mustang has to be one of the best soft dildos out there, and that’s why I’ve picked it out as the Test Winner in this review. Since I have a Vixen Vixskin dildo of my own (the Vixen Maverick) I know how amazing the silicone feels. The Vixskin silicone formula is extra elasticated which means the exterior is a lot more soft and squishy compared to other dildos out there. It is a premium quality product with a hyper-realistic design (yes, it’s available in skin tones as well) that’s made of hand-poured, platinum-cured silicone. It’s super durable and long-lasting with proper care and maintenance. Isabelle, who tested this dildo found it to be THE most realistic feeling dildo she had ever used (until she got a larger version, the Vixen Vixskin Buck, that is). “I can see it being my go-to dildo for a long while yet, and I have actually found myself choosing it over my favorite clitoral toys, which is high praise indeed!”. In terms of softness, Isabelle described it as “the perfect combination of sculpted and squishy”. It nice and soft but still offers the sensation of an erection. The size and softness of the Mustang also makes it ideal for beginners, anal play, or “for double penetration with a partner”. The base does have some suction abilities but Vixen even state that this is a non-slip base not a suction cup so if you are looking specifically for a strong suction cup base, this probably isn’t the one for you. It does, however work wonderfully in a harness.

Colors AvailableBronze, Graphite, Chestnut

I picked out the Square Peg Toys Wyatt as the Runner-Up because it’s insanely soft and flexible. Our tester, Charlotte, didn’t give it a great rating because it was actually too soft for her liking. “Despite being a well-made dildo that looks and feels very realistic, this just doesn’t hit the spot with its super soft material”. While I definitely understand the need for something that provides a bit more internal massage, I still think this dildo would be a great match for those specifically looking for a soft dildo. I think it’s actually a super high quality item that has a very detailed, realistic design. Charlotte still did note that it is a beautiful piece to behold and that “the 100% Platinum Cured Silicone is excellent, it feels luxurious. This was built to last if properly cared for”. A big benefit of getting this dildo would be the suction cup base. This opens up to a lot of ways to use it during solo play. Another great pro about the Square Peg Toys Wyatt is the wide range of sizes available. This way you can find the perfect fit for you and your needs. That’s always a win in my book!

Insertable length6.75 inches

Storage Bag IncludedNo
Colors AvailableVanilla, Blue, Pink

The Blush Neo Elite 7.5″ Dual Density Dildo is ideal for those who are on a tight budget but still want a decent quality dildo that’s made from body-safe materials and offers a realistic design. Our tester, Alice, was really impressed with its versatility and performance: “With an approachable size and girth, as well as hyper-realistic surfacing and finishes, it is an easy and accessible tool to use during individual play, partnered or group play, and pegging”. I do think the Blush Neo Elite 7.5″ Dual Density Dildo may have too much of a slender design to please very experienced users. As far as internal stimulation goes, Alice pointed out that she “did occasionally feel as though the dual density feature of this dildo, which feels so nice on the skin and is a fantastic quality, left me with the sensation that the penis I had inside of me was a bit flaccid”. While this didn’t deter her enjoyment, it’s still something those who are used to firm stimulation may not appreciate.

4 Best for Beginners

Tantus Charmer Silicone Dildo

 Tantus Charmer

Tantus Charmer

  • Single-density silicone dildo
  • Non-representational design with a slightly ridged shaft
  • Tapered tip and slim neck
  • Flared base.

  • Gorgeous metallic lavender color
  • Pleasure ridges add some variation in sensation
  • Great for both anal and vaginal play
  • Harness compatible

  • No suction cup base
  • Not great for g-spot stimulation for more experienced users
Tantus Charmer
Length7 inches
Insertable length6.5 inches
Diameter1.4 inches
WaterproofYes
MaterialsUltra-premium silicone

The slim shaft of the Tantus Charmer makes it an ideal option for beginners who need a soft dildo to start out with. What love about this dildo is that it works great both vaginally and anally because of the unique, non-representational shape. For very seasoned dildo users, our tester, Isabelle, noted that it may be a it underwhelming: “If you are looking for a dildo to use vaginally, bear in mind that, unlike many dildos, the shaft get’s narrower towards the base, so you might not get that full feeling with the whole dildo inserted”. On the flip side, this shape may just help newbies feel a lot more comfortable. For both vaginal and anal use, the tapered tip makes insertion easier, and the ridges “add some subtle stimulation while the toy is inside”. “The Tantus Charmer is pretty easy to use, although it doesn’t have a suction cup base, which would open up a whole more options for positions and hands-free riding”. Tantus dildos generally don’t have suction cups on the base, but they still work very well in strap-on harnesses.

5 Expert Pick

SelfDelve Marshmallow Dildo

 SelfDelve Marshmallow Dildo

SelfDelve Marshmallow Dildo

  • Super soft and squishy silicone dildo
  • Cute and colorful marshmallow-inspired design
  • Spiraled texture along the whole shaft.

  • 100% body-safe silicone
  • Texture creates a varied sensation during penetration
  • Cute and whimsical design that doesn't look like an actual dildo
  • Feels nice and filling without stretching you out

  • No flared base and therefore not suitable for anal play or harness use
  • No suction cup base
SelfDelve Marshmallow Dildo
Length8.75 inches
Insertable length7.75 inches
Diameter1.7 inches
MaterialsSilicone
Storage Bag IncludedYes
Colors AvailableWhite with pink, yellow and blue accents

I chose to include the SelfDelve Marshmallow Dildo as my Expert Pick because it truly is one of the most soft and squishy dildos I’ve encountered. Yes, it does have an unconventional design that won’t be for everyone, but I suggest you don’t be too quick to judge a book by its cover (or a dildo by its design). I think anyone out there looking for a super soft and squishy dildo will be impressed by this item! Our tester, Kiki, thought the “the marshmallowy feel was a nice change from the usual firmness of other dildos and the colorful ribs are amazinggggly stimulating”. First of all, the quality in itself is pretty impressive. Soft and stretchy materials aren’t a new thing in the world of sex toys, but they’re usually made of TPE or TPR (which is porous and not 100% safe for internal use). This dildo offers the same kind of softness and flexibility but it is made of 100% non-porous silicone. The design itself is also very well-made. The colors are gorgeous and the glossy finish makes it look and feel like a premium product. In terms of performance, Kiki wrote in her review that she was “pleasantly surprised by how gentle it is despite the larger size and girth. The silicone material is incredibly smooth and flexible, making insertion easy and comfortable, especially when properly lubed up”. The only real limitation it has is the base, which is neither flared nor features a suction cup base. While this keeps the marshmallow illusion alive, it doesn’t bode well for versatility. It’s not suitable for anal play, strap-on play, or to use for hands-free riding. “This might be a deal breaker for some, and at times I did wish I could use it hands-free, but I think its texture and uniqueness won me over in the end”.

Looking for the Softest Vibrators Out There?

Of course, you can find a lot of other soft sex toys out there, and one of the most common soft toys to look for is a soft vibrator. So the question is, which one is the softest vibrator? Here below we have written about three of the softest vibrators we have found for soft, sensual stimulation!

Why Buy a Soft Dildo?

Until you’ve held a soft dildo in your hands and actually tried using one, it’s hard to fully understand just how good they are, but I’ll try my hardest to sum up the main pros for you!
  • Enjoy more gentle but satisfying stimulation — Soft dildos are great if you are more sensitive to penetrative play or just want to experience some more sensual sensations.
  • They feel more realistic — Soft dildos, especially dual density dildos that are soft on the outside but have a firm core, feel more like the real deal!
  • You can enjoy bigger dildos — If you want to explore bigger dildos, a soft option can be more comfortable as it gives in to your body more than a rigid option.
  • They feel amazing to squish in your hands — Ok maybe this one isn’t quite as relevant, but after you hold your first soft, squishy dildo, you’ll understand the satisfaction!

Why You Should Avoid Jelly Dildos

It is becoming more and more known common truth among sex toy users that jelly dildos are not safe! While they have been around for a long time and many people are fond of their soft, squishy feeling, they can be pretty harmful to your genitals. Here are the main reasons why you should stick to silicone and avoid jelly dildos like the plague! For an extended version with more information, you can read a whole post answering the question, is a jelly dildo safe?

Jelly dildos are porous

Jelly dildos are porous - Why You Should Avoid Jelly Dildos
jelly dildos are made using porous materials which have microscopic holes that cannot be fully cleaned. This means your jelly dildo is the perfect breeding ground for bacteria. So definitely a no-go to put in our sensitive bodies.

Jelly dildos contain harmful substances

Jelly dildos contain harmful substances - Why You Should Avoid Jelly Dildos
Jelly dildos are made using plasticizers, often phthalates, to give them that soft jelly-like feeling. Phthalates can leach out of the jelly dildo and into you body and have been known to interfere with reproductive health, among other things.

Jelly dildos can cause allergic reactions

Jelly dildos can cause allergic reactions - Why You Should Avoid Jelly Dildos
Many people have suffered skin reactions, sometimes very painful ones, from using jelly dildos. This is way too big of a risk to take with your most sensitive areas!

How to use a soft dildo

Soft dildos can be used in many different ways, depending on the design of the base. Remember, only dildos with a flared base can be used anally.

Always use lube

Always use lube

This isn’t a special advice for using a soft dildo, this is a general  advice for anyone using a sex toy! If your soft dildo is made from silicone, you should only use a water-based lubricant.

For anal use

For anal use

The most important thing to have in mind when using a toy in your anus is the base. The base needs to be flared so you can be sure that the whole toy doesn’t slip inside you. Once you’ve checked your toy is anal safe, always use plenty lube and take it slowly when inserting your toy. If it is a large soft dildo, you should warm up by using your fingers or a small anal toy!

For vaginal use

For vaginal use

You can use all soft dildos for vaginal use! Again, remember the lube and then you are good to go! You can explore thrusting or grinding motions with a soft dildo. If you have a suction cup soft dildo, you can also ride it hands-free by sticking it to a smooth, flat surface.

Strap-on sex

Strap-on sex

If your soft dildo has a flared base, you can also use it in a strap-on harness for pegging or strap-on sex!

How to clean a soft dildo

The best way to clean a sex toy, in general, would be to boil it, then you can be sure of having all the bacteria removed. But not all the materials can handle that, in this test there are only a few dildos that can. Note - only 100% silicone dildos with no electrical parts can be boiled. So we do recommend that you first rinse it, use mild soap and then rinse it again. When you're done, no matter which method used, you should make sure it is dry before storing it in a separate bag or box.

FAQ

The reason someone would buy a soft dildo is to have a dildo that's flexible and squishy. A dildo that feels more realistic and similar to a real penis than hard ones. They are more beginner-friendly than other dildos and are easy to use. A soft dildo is a great complement to use when using a vibrator against your other sensitive areas on the body.

You should stick to using soft dildos that don't contain harmful materials such as phthalates and we highly recommend using dildos made of non-porous materials. The only soft material that ticks both of these boxes is silicone! You should also only use a soft dildo with a flared base for anal play.

Silicone is the only fully safe soft dildo material as it is both non-toxic and non-porous. Other materials, such as jelly, can contain harmful materials and they are porous, meaning bacteria and mold can grow in the tiny pores over time. TPE/TPR tends to be non-toxic but porous.

The softest dildos are the squishiest ones, then ones that almost feel like one of those stress balls, no really but I´m sure it could be used for that too. Some have a core that´s bendable and some are just a bit flexible. Do see how soft the one you are looking at is, look at the youtube videos where you can see the tester bend and squeeze the dildo.

First of all make sure you use plenty of lube and you might want to warm up by using your fingers or a smaller anal toy. Secondly, you should hold the soft dildo near the end so you can steady the shaft, and slowly insert the tip. Soft dildos can be difficult to use anally, as the core is not hard enough, making it difficult to insert. You are best using a dual density or firm but flexible dildo.

What is soft dildo?

A soft dildo has got the shape of a classic dildo, it can look realistic or more discrete, with veins or just with a flat surface. What is unique is how it feels, there are two different types of soft dildos. There are the ones that are soft on the outside, some are even squishy, they have a smooth surface and are nice to caress the skin gently with. Then the other type, it´s when the shaft is soft and bendable.
