Whether you think it looks more like a shell or a hedgehog (I'm firmly on Team Hedgehog), the Tenga Iroha+ Kushi is one adorable vibrator. This soft and squishy friend is made for ultra-comfy external stimulation, and is made from 100% silicone. As well as being extremely versatile, the Kushi is also surprisingly powerful and rumbly! And, I have to admit, I've totally fallen for this cute creature!

Iroha+ Kushi -

I am an absolute sucker for aesthetically-pleasing sex toys, especially when they’re cute! There’s something about the look of the Iroha+ Kushi that just draws me to it, and I’ve definitely coveted it from afar for a while. So, when I got the chance to test this clit vibrator, I was super excited!

First Impressions

When I first opened up the packaging, I was impressed with how much effort and attention to detail had gone into it. This is the first Iroha toy that I’ve owned, but I’ve seen many Tenga eggs in my time, and thought that they looked a little cheap. Not so was the Kushi! Inside the packaging, this toy came nestled in its own display case. At first, I was surprised, but then I realized that, since this toy is so pretty and discreet-looking, why not show it off? Plus, it also doubles as a magnetic charging case, and is great for protecting the Kushi’s soft silicone body.

Embrace the Squish

Another surprise for me was just how squishy this vibrator is. I’ve experienced other sex toys before that had some squish to them, like the Dame Arc, but I always thought that the silicone was still a bit too firm. The Kushi, however, is incredibly pillowy! The entire top of the body is pillowy and soft on the skin, with a solid base underneath. The tip, or ‘nose’, is also very soft and flexible, which I absolutely adore. It allows me to press into my clit and enjoy some firm yet cushy stimulation, but also works great for light grazing and teasing. Personally, I’m more of a fan of direct, pinpoint clit stimulation, but if you enjoy broader vibes, the Kushi could be amazing, especially if the old ‘rub it out’ method is a go-to for you. It also works great as a grinding toy!

Iroha+ Kushi -

The Kushi is unbelievably cute! I adore the simple, discreet design, which is very aesthetically-pleasing without being too anthropomorphic. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the design and execution of this vibrator, from the squishiness, the ribbing on the body, the flexible tip, and the magnetic charging points that also function as the control buttons. I also like the neutral color, though I think others may wish for some more colorful options.

The design of the Iroha+ Kushi makes it very easy to use, and very comfortable, too! Simply hold the + button to turn it on, and press it to cycle through the different intensities and patterns. You can experiment with both broad and pinpoint stimulation using the different parts of the vibrator, and even try it out on all different parts of the body, as long as it stays on the outside. The only potential problem I can see is that the vibrations can travel quite a bit through the body and into your hand.

Iroha+ Kushi -

Once you see and hold the Kushi, it becomes apparent that it's a very high-quality product. The silicone is soft and seamless, The motor inside is also strong and fairly rumbly, and the display case it comes with is a great addition to keep it safe and charged up. I've had no issues with mine, but if you do experience any problems, the Kushi comes with a 1-year warranty from Tenga.

For full disclosure, I actually won the Iroha+ Kushi in a giveaway competition from Tenga! So, I didn't have to pay for it, but, if I hadn't, I think I still would've considered it. At $110, it's certainly not cheap, but it is surprisingly high-quality and high-intensity for an Iroha vibrator! For the price, you also get some gorgeous, gift-worthy packaging, a solid acrylic display case/charging stand, a USB charging cable and an instruction manual.

Iroha+ Kushi -

I wasn't expecting to love the feel of the Kushi as much as I did! The vibrations, while not the rumbliest I've ever felt, are still surprisingly powerful and pleasurable. They're not silent, but not earth-shatteringly loud earlier — under a comforter with the door closed, I doubt if you could hear them. I also haven't had a session long enough to tell if the toy can get hot with prolonged use, but that says something!

Iroha+ Kushi -

Iroha's packaging is always designed to be pretty to look at, and the Kushi is no exception. It comes in a cardboard sleeve with a photo of the toy on the front, and inside that you'll find two cardboard boxes. One contains the Kushi in its display case, and the other has the charging cable and various leaflets and manuals. It really reminds me of gift packaging, and could make the Kushi a great, luxurious gift for a loved one.

Iroha+ Kushi -

The Kushi is covered in 100% body-safe silicone, and is also completely waterproof. The silicone feels soft and velvety to the touch, which I love. Being waterproof, it's also quite easy to clean with a mild, unscented soap and water, though you should take care to get into all the ridges on the body. You can store it in the charging case, though if you don't have enough space for that, you will have to find or buy your own storage pouch.

Iroha+ Kushi -

  • Cute, discreet design
  • Powerful vibrations
  • Squishy, ridged body
  • Flexible tip
  • Body-safe silicone
  • Comes with charging case

  • Vibrations aren't super rumbly
  • Vibrations travel through the hand quite a lot
  • Only has two vibration patterns

Personally, I really love the Iroha+ Kushi, though I can acknowledge that that is, in large part, due to how dang cute it is! It's not the rumbliest or most practical toy in my collection, but that squishiness is something that just can't be beat. I would say it's a great option for sex toy beginners, those looking for a super versatile vibrator, or those who want something gentle and comfortable for a luxurious self-pampering sesh.

You can find a user manual for the Tenga Iroha+ Kushi and the other two Iroha+ vibrators here on their website: https://iroha-tenga.com/en/pdf/iroha_plus_torisetsu.pdf

Yes, the Kushi is a very beginner-friendly vibrator. The soft, squishy body offers gentle ways to play, and the different parts mean you can get several different forms of stimulation. It also has quite a few different vibration speeds, from soft to powerful.

You should stick to a water-based lube when using the Kushi. Silicone- and oil-based lubes will damage the silicone of the toy, leaving it gummy, tacky and unsafe to use.

Yes, the Iroha+ range has three vibrators, including the Kushi. The other options are the Tori, which is designed for a bit of internal stimulation, and the Yoru, which has an opening that you can squeeze together.

The Iroha Kushi is not designed for internal stimulation. It is waterproof, so you could theoretically insert the pointy 'nose' slightly, but it won't provide much stimulation.
