CalExotics Chic Tulip — Test & Review

The CalExotics Chic Tulip is so elegant it could easily be mistaken for a small perfume bottle. Not only because it looks like a mysterious little purple vial wrapped in soft, velvety silicone that is the colour of the night sky, but also because it manages to stand upright thanks to a striking golden metallic finish. If I had to make a list of the perfect toys to give to your aunt or a shy, inexperienced friend, I would definitely choose this one. She won't feel exposed and will know that she can enjoy the tingles and sensations. I love toys that make you feel like you are keeping a secret from everyone.

This toy comes with a single button with which you can turn it on, off and cycle through its 10 levels of vibration. It has a memory chip that allows the toy to start at the exact intensity you left it at. You cannot separate the vibration and movement functions. I like the location of the button: you don't have twist unnaturally to use it. The shape of the tip, slightly oblique, contributes to not having to make any effort at all so that its surface is exactly against your skin, gently sloping as required by the anatomy of the vulva and clitoris. It is not at all suitable for someone with muscle fatigue or who does not like to have to hold the toy all the time.

Although the toy looks sexy and stylish, there's one thing about CalExotics Chic Tulip that's a big fail: it's very noisy. To absorb the blender-like noise, you'll probably need to cover it with a duvet. If it is summer, you can turn on the fan. This is a shame and, more generally, a debt the industry owes to our privacy. I can forgive this for my living conditions, but if I were a student sharing a room or even a flat, I would pass on this toy!

You can find this toys in the range of 50-70 euros. This makes it "not so cheap toy". Is it worth it? Judging by its performance, presentation and design, I vote yes. Some details make it worth. For example, when you open the box, you find the Chic Tulip standing on a delicate foam platform that supports it. That's an attractive image. Well done.

Chic Tulip surprised me and here is why: under its silky soft silicone, I found two very small balls, separated from each other by the distance of the average width of the clitoris (good for the designers!). When placed at the right point, balls surrounded the clitoris and exerted a slight pressure on both sides. These balls moved together up and down at 10 different speeds while the surface offers a fuzzy and delicate vibration. Imagine your lover surrounding your clitoris with their index and middle fingers and going up and down at the same time. You’d like it, wouldn't you? Me too.

CalExotics Chic Tulip comes in a tall box in the same colour as the toy: purple. It looks sophisticated, mature and somewhat luxurious, just like the toy itself. The brand name is highlighted in gold lettering.The features of the toy are listed on one side of the box. On the other is a small letter from the founder of Calexotics, talking about sexuality as a holistic plan for cultivating happiness. This letter is a nice touch. In a world full of mass-produced toys, it's lovely to find this signature.

This toy is made of the softest medical silicone, the softest I have ever touched in my life, with a velvety feel. It doesn't stick and dries quickly. Chic Tulip has something that not many toys have: golden metal details with prints, like the initials of the brand. This adds to its perfume-like image and goes perfectly with its purple color. It is charged with a cable with a very thin plug that is included in the box. You can wash it with soap and water or you can also use a toy cleaner. It is waterproof, so don't be afraid to damage it.
