The Lovense Nora is a rabbit vibrator with a difference. Alongside its flexible vibrating arm is a girthy shaft that can rotate at three different speeds at the touch of a button (or endless speeds using the Lovense Remote app!). The bulbous rotating tip offers a sensual g-spot massage that is only elevated by the Nora's strong vibrations. The whole toy is covered in smooth silicone with a handle made from hard plastic.

Lovense Nora -

I am certainly not averse to a good rabbit vibrator! As someone who really enjoys internal g-spot stimulation, but often can’t orgasm from it alone, rabbit vibrators are incredibly appealing to me. In fact, the first toy I ever reviewed for Bedbible was the Lelo Soraya 2 rabbit vibe, which I loved (and you should definitely go and read after you’re done here!). So, when I got the chance to review the Lovense rabbit vibrator, I was intrigued. Like I’m sure many others have been, I was drawn in by Lovense’s promise of a satisfying g-spot massage with the Nora’s rotating shaft, but it ended up not being quite what I expected.

On My Own

For my first couple of tries of the Lovense Nora, I went old-school and used the buttons on the toy. It took a little time to figure out how it worked, but my first impression was fairly favorable. The silicone was silky smooth, and the vibrations emanating from the rabbit arm were powerful and felt pretty great. I must confess that I’m not a huge fan of thick dildos. Most days, I don’t like spending a ton of time warming up for a masturbation session, but that wasn’t an option with this toy. My first time, I was impatient and went too quickly, which ended up being a pretty uncomfortable experience. The next time around, I tried to take my time and use the Nora to tease and play around until I was aroused enough to insert the shaft, which was interesting, given that the rabbit arm is the only part of this toy that vibrates.

Time for the Rotations

Time to test out the real selling point of the Nora! Once I was ready, I pressed the center button on the handle and switched on the shaft’s rotating mode. And… I didn’t feel much. In fact, when I looked down to see what was happening, I realized the my hand was doing most of the rotating. The thing about having a rotating vibrator is that, once you put it inside you, it’s held pretty still and the outside is what wants to rotate. If I really tried to grip it and hold it still, I could make it gyrate a bit more inside me, but I was left wanting more. When I tried to turn up the speed, the sensations did increase a bit more, but so did the noise. A lot. For all the things that the Lovense Nora is, quiet is definitely not one of them.

Testing Out the App

I’ll be up front with you – I don’t like other people controlling the functions of my sex toys. I don’t expect my boyfriend to be able to read my mind when it comes to anything else, so why would I when it comes to this? Not saying that it doesn’t hold a certain sexy appeal, but in reality, I just find myself constantly wishing that I could grab the controls and do it myself. However, I am a professional, and I was prepared to give the Lovense app the old college try. In terms of functionality, the Lovense Remote app really can’t be criticized! Once my boyfriend and I had set up accounts, we could both easily connect to the Nora and control it remotely. The vibrations and rotations can be controlled separately, and the interface was very intuitive. The pre-programmed patterns also worked, but were far too intense for my liking – it almost seemed like they were made for a different toy! The same went for syncing the functions to music. It went smoothly, but everything just seemed to be very intense, even when we played around with the sensitivity. The only song we could find that really worked was some abstract jazz – do with that what you will. So, while I can’t say that I would use these app-control features, they could be pretty great to someone who finds remote controls more appealing!

Long Distance Sex Mode

Since my boyfriend has a Lovense Max 2, we also tried out the Long Distance Sex function on the Lovense app. In this mode, the movements in your partner’s toy is controlled by how you move yours, and vice versa. The Nora can be connected with the Max 2 and the Lovense Calor this way. You can read in detail about our experiences in our blog post on connecting the Max and Nora this way, but the short version is: it was a mixed bag. The Nora seemed to have the same problems as before, the movements were all very intense and it lacked a lot of variation, even with the sensitivity slider all the way down. However, it did seem to control the Max 2 well, and it was enjoyable for my boyfriend.

Lovense Nora -

In terms of aesthetics, I would say that the Lovense Nora is pretty middle-of-the-road. It's definitely not ugly, but the white plastic handle and bright pink silicone do seem just a little dated in our current age of subtly beautiful, muted-color-palette sex toys. However, when it comes to shape, I think Lovense have made some great design choices. The girthy shaft features a bulbous tip that feels filling and is designed to make maximum g-spot contact. If you want to insert it further, this bulb can make contact with your a-spot whilst the second bump in the shaft can still provide that vital g-spot massage. The rabbit arm is also incredibly flexible and large for great clit contact.

Lovense Nora -

There is nothing particularly difficult about using the Lovense Nora when it comes to the toy itself. It has a simple two-button interface, one for vibration and one for rotation. Despite this, the controls aren't actually that intuitive, and I had to study the quick start guide a couple of times to be able to use it properly. The Nora is also a large toy, and quite heavy, which may pose some problems for those who have trouble with grip or struggle to hold something in position for a long time. In terms of app controls, the Lovense app is one of the most intuitive sex toy apps that I've come across!

Lovense Nora -

What the Lovense Nora lacks in 'pretty', it makes up for in quality. It feels sturdy to hold and works reliably. The silicone of the shaft is smooth and soft, and there's a good seal between it and the hard plastic handle. The only qualm I have is with the control buttons. While Lovense state that the Nora is fully waterproof, there's something about having uncovered buttons that make me worried that water might get inside the toy. This hasn't happened to me, and it might well just be in my head, but I do try to be extra careful when cleaning it.

Whilst there are certainly cheaper rabbit vibrators out there, the Lovense Nora's price is pretty comparable to other app-controlled rabbits on the market today. I would also say that that price is justifiable when you look at the quality of the Nora's materials, engineering and production. Just be sure that it offers everything you're looking for in a rabbit before you buy. For your money, as well as the vibrator itself, you also receive a storage bag, magnetic charging cable, user manual and quick setup guide for connecting the Nora to the Lovense app.

Lovense Nora -

The Lovense Nora delivers when it comes to powerful vibrations. I love how the rabbit arm can flex and fit exactly where it needs to, making full contact with the clitoris. The vibrations aren't as rumbly as other vibrators I've tried (like the We-Vibe Tango X), but still aren't to be sniffed at. As I mentioned above, the rotating function doesn't quite hit the mark for me, but may well work for someone with a different anatomy.

Lovense Nora -

I think that the packaging for Lovense products is an acquired taste, which I don't think I've acquired. It's simple, in white with a large picture of the Nora on the front – nothing to write home about, but that's also okay. It's sturdy, and does its job of protecting the toy and all the bits that come with it. At least I didn't feel that usual pang of guilt from throwing away this packaging once I was done with the photos!

Lovense Nora -

All the materials on the Lovense Nora are 100% non-porous and body-safe. That, plus its magnetic charging design, means that the Nora is completely waterproof, making cleaning it incredibly easy. Just use water and a mild, fragrance-free soap to lather it up and use your hands to get rid of any remnants of your fun. Try to pay special attention to the area where the silicone and plastic handle meet, as there may be a very small gap for dirt to get lodged.

Lovense Nora -

Perhaps the biggest selling point of the Lovense Nora is its rotating function. Rather than vibrations, this rabbit has a shaft that rotates at three different speeds. The idea is that this provides a g-spot massage experience unlike anything you can get from vibrations alone, but for me it just didn’t turn out as good as I’d hoped. Rather than gyrating internally and giving some nice g-spot sensations, most of the time it was just the handle that was rotating, while the shaft just sat still. I would have loved some vibrations in addition to the rotation, but as it was, the shaft just acted like a normal dildo.

  • Rotating shaft
  • Flexible rabbit arm
  • Optional app control
  • Rechargeable
  • Long battery life

  • Rotation is loud
  • Expensive
  • Shaft may be too girthy for some
  • Heavy

All in all, the Lovense Nora just wasn't quite my cup of tea. There aren't that many things I can fault it on – it's a very well-made, high-quality sex toy, with a great functioning app! I think, in the right hands, the Nora could work some wonders, but it wasn't everything I want from a vibrator. The vibrations weren't really rumbly enough, the rotations weren't really rotate-y enough, and it was just too big! However, we're all different, and what works for me may not be what works for you. That's why it's so great that we have such a huge variety of sex toys out there!

The Lovense Nora has a magnetic USB – the metal contacts on the charging cable will stick magnetically to the ones on the toy itself. It doesn't come with an AC adaptor, so you'll have to find one yourself. The Nora should take around 2.5 hours to charge fully.

To control your partner's Lovense Nora, first make sure that their phone and the toy are connected via Bluetooth and that they have an Lovense account. You should also have the app downloaded and have an account created. Then, your partner can search for your username in the 'Long Distance' tab and invite you to connect. Once connected, you can take control of the Nora!

The Lovense Nora is made from silicone, so you should only used silicone-compatible lubes with it, like water-based lube.

The Lovense Nora has a main shaft that rotates, and a rabbit arm that vibrates to stimulate the clitoris. It can be controlled manually via buttons on the toy, or via the Lovense Connect app. It can also be controlled remotely from anywhere in the world using the app.
