Mind, Body, and Soul – The Game for Any Couple Review

The Mind, Body, and Soul game has a very hippie vibe and looks like something you would pick up in a new age store, which is exactly my cup of (herbal) tea! I like the slightly psychedelic tie dye board and the colorful chakra cards! The only thing is that I wish the player pieces were bit more visually interesting than the black and white ones included.

The game play is very straightforward. As someone who hears white noise when reading board game rules, this was a big relief. It's really nice you don't have to spend time figuring out how to get started. I also like that this means the focus is really on the questions, answers and conversations that rise during the game rather than the rules. Both the instruction paper and question cards have a Spanish version on the other side, which is nice if your native language is Spanish or you and your partner want to practice your Spanish skills together! I would also say that although this game is designed for romantic partners, you could easily play it with a close friend.

I think the game is well-made. The board is made of thick board (like most board games!) and the question cards have a nice finish to them. It was also the XBIZ 2019 Adult Game of the Year, although I have to say, I feel like the adult game market is not the most competitive.

At well under $20, I think the Mind, Body, Soul Game is definitely worth the price. The only thing to keep in mind is that there are limited questions on the cards. That being said, some are time limited (e.g. when was the last time...?) so your answers will change over time. You might also find that your answers naturally change in response to other questions over time as your ideas and priorities change.

While the Chakra game wasn't what I was originally expecting, I do think it does an amazing job of helping you have some really important and intimate conversations that often get overlooked. Having it as a game like this makes it great for using in a little connection ritual as it's also got an element of fun to it.

The Mind, Body, and Soul game comes packaged in a nice sturdy box that's also used for storing the game. It has a colorful illustration on the top. There's nothing overtly sexual on it, and I think it looks nice enough to have out on a shelf or stacked with other boardgames.

The game is mostly made from laminated board/cardboard, with small card coins and plastic counters. There's nothing that needs cleaning and it can all be stored in the original box.
