Royalty or not, every bum deserves a princess plug. The PinkCherry It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug is enrobed in platinum-cured silicone and crowned with a plastic gem. It's sturdy, glamorous, and rattles with vibrations strong enough to curl your toes.

Thoughtful Shipping

The Pink Cherry It’s a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug arrived discretely, which is great news for readers with privacy concerns. The package was enclosed in a bubble mailer, and the label displayed no mention of PinkCherry. While I’m open about my sexual health products, I appreciate when a company prioritizes consumer discretion over an advertisement opportunity.

Trial by Fire

A strong chemical odor wafted from the package upon opening. This scent wasn’t diminished after multiple washes and days of air-drying. This made me question the “platinum-cured silicone” claim from the listing. I performed a flame test (which isn’t advisable on toys with electronic components, such as mine), and it passed. While my silicone doubts were relieved, the odor is still very present.

Quality Assurance

Before insertion, I took a day to explore the texture, power, and settings externally. This helps avoid discomfort and ease intimidation. Not to mention, the prolonged foreplay brews anticipation for an especially satisfying climax. When it came time to insert, the tapered shape aided in comfortable progression. The girthy neck provided a lovely stretch during use.  However, the circumference of the neck was too similar to the circumference of the widest point of the plug. This resulted in the plug being ejected during muscle contractions, kegel flexing, and orgasm. This could have been avoided with a steeper taper from the girthiest point of the plug to the neck.

Good Vibrations

The Pink Cherry It’s a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug emits powerful, yet buzzy vibrations. They’re comparable to that of the VeDO Bump. Although, the Gem is slightly more buzzy and not quite as strong. The first and fourth modes are the least buzzy, with the fourth mode being properly rumbly. The second through tenth modes (excluding the fourth) become progressively stronger, but also buzzier.

The PinkCherry It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug has a mystical aesthetic. Platinum-cured silicone coats the sleek, tapered shaft. It exhibits the most delicious matte black finish, contrasting the clear gem set in the base. The plastic gem resembles a rose-cut crystal, further contributing to the mystical presentation. Not to mention, the wearer looks positively enchanting with the crystal glistening between their cheeks. The small tip, tapered design, and silky texture help the 2.5" length and 4" girth glide smoothly into the anus.

While insertion was a breeze, I can't say the same for keeping the plug in place. Additionally, the button requires significant force to activate power/mode changes. The lack of compression adds strain to the joints. Perhaps this is to prevent unwanted mode changes during penetration. However, it poses concerns for those with limited hand or finger dexterity. Lubrication augments the issue. A locking feature would have been a more inclusive solution. Offering a remote control or app compatibility could, also, increase accessibility to those with certain disabilities.

This plug feels extremely durable. The PinkCherry website advertises the It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug as being made of platinum-cured silicone. Platinum-cured silicone has a higher tensile strength than other silicones, is tear resistant, and yields no by-products. The motor produces powerful vibrations, all while emitting about as much sound as an electric toothbrush. As mentioned, these vibrations are slightly buzzy. The chemical odor does, however, pose quality concerns.

At the time of writing this review, the PinkCherry It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug is on sale for $24.98. If I were to rate this plug on the sale price, it'd be worth every penny. However, it normally retails for $69.95. I'd consider $69.95 to be a steep price for a plug with no remote, no app, and no customizable features. To compare, the Satisfyer Plug-ilicious 1 and the Satisfyer Rotatator Plug 1 both retail for $69.95; they both include app-connectivity and customizable programs. Neither includes a gem, but I'd argue that a plastic gem doesn't equate the value of the aforementioned assets.

Oh, this plug performs. The PinkCherry It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug arrived pre-charged. The vibrations outshined my expectations and performed just as well underwater. The 2-hours of battery life were enough to keep pace during marathon sessions. Whether one feels it's worth the 2-hour charging time is up to individual preference. As mentioned, the shape may result in the plug dislodging at times. More frustratingly, the button could take multiple firm presses to result in activation of the desired function. However, the most important thing is that the plug gets the job done.

The packaging of this product consisted of flimsy cardboard and the sort of plastic one may expect to contain an action figure. Packaging aesthetics don't make or break an experience for me. However, the materials may be too flimsy to protect from moderate force during transit. Even my box arrived with a crushed corner, though the product remained undamaged. There was no manual, no directions, and no storage bag.  While a storage bag isn't a necessity, instructions should always be included. The box did, however, include a USB charger.

The PinkCherry It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug is made from platinum-cured silicone and a plastic gem. As with all silicone toys, silicone lubricant should be avoided. Instead, opt for a water-based, anal lubricant. This gem is fully waterproof, so it can be enjoyed in the bathtub without concern. Cleanse with comfortably hot water and a sex toy cleanser before and after each use. Make sure to massage the soap over the contours and gem. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Store in a clean, dry place.

  • Waterproof
  • Rechargeable battery
  • 2 hours of battery life per charge
  • Body-safe silicone
  • Strong Vibrations

  • No remote control
  • No app compatibility
  • Button difficult to operate
  • Vibrations on the buzzy side
  • Strong chemical odor

While the PinkCherry It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug emitted strong vibrations, it fell short in some crucial areas. The gem required too much force to activate/change settings, and there was no manual included with the product. The PinkCherry website claimed that the gem had a security feature, but I wasn't able to find one. Finally, it feels questionable to insert something with such a strong chemical odor into the body. It won back some points for being fully waterproof and having a 2-hour battery life. For beginners wanting to try a reliable glam plug, it may be worth considering the PinkCherry It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug. However, I'd not advise this plug for people with limited hand/finger dexterity or sensitivity to smells.

Hold the gem down for three seconds to power on/off. Press the gem to cycle through the 10 vibration modes. Plug PinkCherry It’s a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug into USB charger for two hours to fully recharge battery.

No. It only comes with a USB charging cable.

The instructional video on the PinkCherry website claims that the plug has a "security feature." It doesn't say how to activate the security feature, nor is there any manual included. If there is a security feature, I've yet to crack the code.

The battery takes 2 hours to charge, and has 2 hours of power per charge.

I'd say that the vibrations are comparable in strength and frequency. The Bump may be a tiny bit stronger and more rumbly. That being said, the Vedo Bump is longer, thinner, and more tapered than the PinkCherry It's a Gem Vibrating Butt Plug. The Vedo Bump, also, has a contoured T-bar while the Gem has a round base.

I wouldn't advise wearing this plug in public. The shape isn't tapered enough to set securely in place. It's best to only wear it where one can safely and comfortably eject it.

The most important thing is whether you desire wearing the plug. Your comfort and safety are priority. Aside from that, it's probably best to insert this plug during a session to avoid ejection.
