First Impressions
Okay, so I was very excited to try the Ribbed Petal. As someone who loves G-spot stimulation and blended orgasms, I was intrigued. So far, I’ve only used Petal by myself with the app. But I can’t wait to take it on the vacation I’m going on with my partner and have him use the app to build the vibration pattern he desires. Once you take the toy out of the box, it feels super premium. The silicone is soft, and the ribbed pattern is very pleasant to the touch. It's weighty and sturdy, and I really liked the long, flexible tail that fits very well against the body. One thing that might be an issue for some people is the hardness of the egg. It has very little bounce and might feel a bit uncomfortable for some people when inserted.
Turning on the toy itself and using it was pretty straightforward. There is one button on the end of the tail that you have to press to turn on and then to change the vibration modes. Figuring out how to connect the app to the toy and how to connect the remote control took a bit more time for me... I had to read the instructions, and that wasn't easy because the instructions were not the best quality, in my opinion.
Generally, I think Satisfyer toys are pretty good quality, and the Ribbed Petal is no exception. The toy feels sturdy and reliable. The silicone is soft and feels premium. The vibrations are pretty rumbly and very pleasant. You have many different patterns to choose from. One thing that did make the toy feel cheap was the plastic remote control... It was so outdated and felt like something you get from eBay for $1. However, there is an app you can download and use to control the toy, so you can kind of pretend that the plastic remote doesn't exist...
At almost $80, this is not the cheapest toy on the market, but it's definitely quality. I think the Petal is a wonderful, affordable Lovense Lush alternative. With this toy, you definitely get what you pay for, especially considering the very well-developed app that allows you to control the toy and make each time a unique experience.
I would say that the Ribbed Petal didn't disappoint when it comes to performance. The vibrations felt good internally and externally. Fitting the toy inside was very easy, and I was so pleased to find that it stayed inside and felt comfortable to wear in different positions. The long tail is flexible and fits very nicely against the body. The vibrations travel through it from the egg, adding additional clitoral stimulation.
Satisfyer packaging is very consistent across the board, and you can tell their brand from the packaging. The Petal came in the standard Satisfyer box, which is playful and sturdy and has tons of information about the toy printed on it. I think the packaging box is super cute and feels quality. The experience was ruined a bit for me once I opened the box. The toy itself sits in a plastic mould, which makes it feel super cheap.
The Petal is made from body-safe silicone that feels very good against the skin. The silicone itself is super soft, but the insertable egg is a bit hard and does not have much bounce or flexibility. It's 100% waterproof, and cleaning it is effortless, which I have always appreciated. One very huge minus for me is that the toy comes with no storage bag. It's very inconvenient, especially considering that the toy is silicone, so it's very hard to keep it fluff-free without a storage bag. For this price range, I would expect the toy to come with a storage bag.
