Swan Wand — Test & Review

The Swan is made of sleek curves, elegance, and sexy simplicity. Easy to grip, this toy is lightweight but solid. I love the combination of one slim side and one thicker, bulbous end. I was a little bummed to find pink is the only color option, but that’s certainly not a deal breaker.

The buttons on this vibrator are slightly complicated. In order to turn the toy on, all you have to do is push the button of whichever end you want to use. Simple enough. However, turning the Swan off can be somewhat tricky. You have to hold down both buttons simultaneously, a possible complication when things have gotten shaky and slippery. You can press either button to cycle through the patterns in each corresponding shaft. Or hold it down, to increase the vibrational strength. The travel lock requires a simultaneous button hold for five seconds. And, this Swan does vibrate your hand, so beware if that’s a no-go for you. It’s not enough for me to notice while using it, but I am used to a toy that can dish out serious power.

Can you say luxury? That’s what the Swan Wand brings to mind. It’s both gorgeous and versatile in its simplicity. I've never worried I'd break this toy and let me tell you, I’ve broken quite a few vibrators. Another point I love? It’s fixed curves, especially the g-spot shaft. I love a good curve that can hit all the right spots. The charging port is super sturdy and easy to use as well.

This wand, at $150, is on the pricey end of the spectrum. I believe it’s worth it though, with the internal and external possibilities, the size, and the difference in size between the two shafts. Not to be cliché, but when it comes to toys, we all know size matters. The Swan is soft to the touch, durable, and the packaging is both sturdy and pleasing to the eye. And did I mention it comes with a stunning, satiny pouch? If you know me, you know a good storage pouch earns points.

The Swan offers an impressive range of vibrational strengths, from gentle to downright strong, all while retaining rumbly sensations. If you don’t enjoy powerful vibrations, you’re definitely going to want to stick to the lower setting. There are four varied patterns that are pulsations, wavelike, or building. Beyond the first vibrational setting, this vibe gets pretty loud. It also takes forever and a day to charge. Up to four hours, according to the instructions. To offset this, it lasts a long time in between charges. I’ve only charged in once and I’ve used it quite a bit, for over a week now.

The Swan doesn't skimp on packaging or extras. I didn’t even have to get to the toy itself before I was excited because this box goes beyond expectations. In fact, it is the first box I have ever kept. And I’ve got a drawer full of toys! With a magnetic side closure, a simple cover showcasing an image of the Swan and its name, it’s a sturdy box that's got my vote. The attention to detail is amazing, including a message on the inside flap. Inside the box you’ll find the charging cable, the toy itself inside a plastic sleeve, the storage pouch, and an instruction and care manual. The instructions are on cardstock, in color (yes, you read that correctly), and come complete with labeled visuals and all the needed information.

This body wand is entirely submersible, so you can use it in bed or the tub. This makes cleaning extremely easy as well, as you can spray it down with your favorite sex toy cleaner, wash it in the sink, and leave it to air dry. No cracks, crevices, or difficult charging ports to worry about. Make certain your Swan is dry before slipping it into your lovely pouch and putting it away. And this wand is made of silky-smooth silicone that is perfectly safe for your body.
