This is certainly one pocket rocket! The Womanizer Liberty is a travel-friendly clitoral suction stimulator that takes the brand's signature clit-pleasing power and packs it into a compact form. Made from body-safe materials and with two removable silicone heads, this toy is built for practicality as well as fun. But, how did it perform..?

Womanizer Liberty -

I Didn’t Know Barbie Made Sex Toys!

They don’t, of course, but you could forgive me for being mistaken when looking at this shiny, pink plastic toy. You might like that aesthetic, but I was honestly a bit turned off by it. I don’t need a luxury vibrator to be happy, but I do prefer toys that feel high-quality and built-to-last. I received the Womanizer Liberty at the same time as the Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 3, which is another clit sucker made of all silicone. Compared to that toy, this one looks and feels significantly cheaper, despite actually being a bit more expensive! The interior is much nicer, with smooth, velvety white silicone, which gave me hope.

Looks Can Be Deceiving

I kind of put off testing out the Liberty. I don’t have a great track record with clitoral suction stimulators, as I’m very sensitive and get easily overwhelmed with direct stimulation. However, I eventually gave in, for science! The first time, I was feeling lazy and didn’t want to reach for the lube — big mistake. The mouth of this toy is not very soft or flexible at all, so forming a seal around your clit is almost impossible without adding extra lubrication. The next time, I was wiser and much more generous with the lube. I was actually surprised with the level of intensity, even on the lowest setting. This may not be the same for everyone, but us sensitive girlies (and all clit-owners) understand. I rarely ventured beyond the second-lowest setting, as that was enough for a fairly quick build-up to orgasm. What I really enjoyed was that I could prolong the orgasm for quite a while on the less intense modes without getting overwhelmed.

A Big Design Flaw

In order to be more travel-friendly and work with its plastic cover, the front of the Womanizer Liberty is totally flat, apart from the removable mouth, and the buttons are on the inside. Unfortunately, while well-intentioned, I think this is a big mistake. By positioning the controls on the side that is supposed to lay flat against the body, it makes them very difficult to access while in use. You can’t see which button you’re pressing, and they’re not raised at all, so I had some trouble with them. To be able to see, you have to lift it away from your body, which disrupts the seal that the mouth has with your body, creating a not-so-appealing gurgling sound. I think some more user-testing was really required in the process of making this toy.

I'm not in love with the look of this toy. I didn't get to pick the color that was sent to me, which is unfortunate because I would have much preferred the blue or lilac color options. However, regardless of color, the shiny plastic look just does not do it for me — it looks more like a kid's toy than a luxurious sex toy! It is nice to have a plastic cover piece, but the magnets that hold it in place are quite weak. Inside there's silicone, which I much prefer, and I do like that the mouth is removable for easy cleaning. However, the placement of the controls feels like a mistake. With the toy pressed against you, you can barely reach them!

Womanizer Liberty -

On the face of it, the Womanizer Liberty is very simple to use. There are only two buttons, a plus and a minus — holding the plus button turns it on and off, and pressing it turns up the intensity, while pressing the minus button lowers it. It's as easy as that. However, I ran into an immediate problem with the buttons being on the inside, which is that they're very hard to press when you're trying to retain the seal of the mouth around your clit. Most clit suckers have a curved handle or an angled head to make them more user-friendly, but the Liberty is totally flat on the front. It's also quite small, which could be an issue if you have any grip issues.

Womanizer Liberty -

Honestly, my first thought when I saw my Womanizer Liberty was that it looked a bit cheap. While I don't believe that the product images are actually inaccurate, they certainly portray this toy in a slightly unrealistic light. The lightweight plastic and overall feel makes it seem quite cheap. The silicone inside does feel more solid and nicely smooth, but it doesn't change my overall disappointment with how it feels. However, when you turn it on, it's a quite different story. The pulsations are smooth and strong, and don't feel cheap at all.

The Womanizer Liberty retails for just under $100, around the same price as the Womanizer Pro40 and a tad more than the Womanizer Starlet series. For that, you receive the toy itself, one extra silicone mouth piece (which Womanizer say is a different size, but looks exactly the same to me), a USB charger cable, and a storage bag. While I do think that that is an extremely reasonable price for a clitoral suction stimulator, it is on the higher end of the scale for a starter sex toy. I'm not sure I would recommend this over, say, the Satisfyer Pro 2 (especially the new Generation 3).

Womanizer Liberty -

I know I've been quite critical of the Liberty, but I did enjoy the sensations it provides. Since I have a high level of sensitivity down there, I stuck to first or second intensity levels to avoid feeling overwhelmed. There are also no patterns, only steady speeds that are smooth and not all jumpy, which is totally fine for me. The effect was still super powerful, and took little time to bring on the Os. I experimented with using it both on the clit itself and over the clitoral hood (I much prefer the latter), and both times it formed a good seal with minimal gurgling sounds. However, on the higher settings, it can get quite loud if the seal isn't quite right!

I really like the look of the Womanizer Liberty's packaging! It's sturdy, practical, and definitely on the feminine side. They've gone for a beach theme on the front, which I guess is to emphasize the travel-friendliness, but other colors seem to have different travel themes on them. On the back, you'll find some highlights of what the toy can do, along with some other information. It has a pull-out drawer design which does feel pretty luxurious, too.

The Womanizer Liberty is made from 100% body-safe materials. The outer casing is hard ABS plastic, which does feel a little cheap, but works fine, while the inner panel and the removable mouths are both made from silicone. These materials are non-porous, making them safe and hygienic to use. This, plus the fact that the Liberty is completely waterproof, makes this toy super easy to clean! Simply use a mild, unscented soap and some water, lathering it up well and getting into all the crevices before rinsing. Remove the mouth while cleaning for a more thorough clean.

Womanizer Liberty -

  • Comes with two removable silicone mouths
  • Powerful suction modes
  • Comes with a plastic travel cover
  • Affordable price

  • Awkward controls once in use
  • Cheap-feeling exterior
  • Seems to only come with one mouth size
  • Weak magnets on the cover piece

Overall, I think the Womanizer Liberty is pretty well-suited to beginners looking for an intense but affordable toy. The disappointments I had with it were partly based on personal taste and design nitpicks, which is why I do still feel perfectly comfortable recommending it. I had a great time with it once I learned how to best navigate its controls, and I think it could even be a nice little companion on my upcoming summer holiday! However, if you don't mind something a little bigger, I would tell you to check out the Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 3. And, if you don't mind spending more, I would highly recommend you take a look at the Lelo Sila! You can find links to both below.

Choosing between the Womanizer Liberty and the Womanizer Pro40 can be difficult, as they are both the same price, and have similar features. On Lovehoney.com, the Pro40 has marginally better reviews, and is slightly larger, with a longer battery life. However both toys have the same number of intensity levels. The Liberty also has its plastic cover, which the Pro40 lacks. Which one is better comes down mostly to personal taste!

The Womanizer Liberty has a charge time of around 2 hours for a full battery. They recommend that, when you first receive the toy, you charge it for one hour before using it.

The Womanizer Liberty has an LED charging indicator light just below the stimulation head. It will flash when the toy needs charging, and will keep flashing as it charges. You'll know when it is fully charged as the light will remain on without flashing.

The Womanizer Liberty is super easy to clean. Simply remove the silicone mouth and lather that and the main body up with a mild, unscented soap and some water. Make sure to get into all the crevices, but be very careful inside the mouth, as it can be very delicate. Afterward, rinse the toy with water and leave to air dry before reassembling and covering with the case.
