It’s hard to objectively evaluate a sex toy that is so beloved by so many around the world, but I’m going to give it my best shot. After all, I’m assuming you want an honest review. The Magic Wand Original has a lot of plus points, most obviously being its immense power. Power queens will love the sheer intensity of the vibrations, but anyone may also appreciate its simplicity. However, those who like to start slow and work their way up to higher speeds may find that this toy is simply too intense to begin with. Alternatively, the Lovehoney Deluxe Mini Wand as another affordable option that won’t overwhelm your vulva completely. Compared to other types of magic wand vibrators, the Magic Wand Original really does pack a punch! A few other factors that lowered the overall score quite a bit for me, was the noise level. It is very, very loud and definitely not suitable for any discreet use. It’s also pretty bulky and heavy, which may be an issue for those with less arm strength or any mobility issues. The mains power also means that you’re tethered to a socket during use. Although corded vibrators aren’t the worst thing, as we know from the Doxy Die Cast, the cord here is not super long, so that will limit your location options for play sessions. And finally, what I personally found the most disappointing about the Magic Wand Original is that the head is made from vinyl rather than a non-porous material like silicone. This means that it will be quicker to wear out and harder to properly clean. Overall, I would personally go for other powerful vibrating wands in this review that I’ve given a much better rating, like the Le Wand. Although, despite my expert opinion on this sex toy, there has to be a reason why SO many people absolutely love the OG Magic Wand Vibrator. Perhaps it’s nostalgia, perhaps people like what they know, all I can say is that there are better options out there nowadays!

The Magic Wand Rechargeable fixes a good deal of its predecessor’s issues, making it a relatively better option for those who want a seriously powerful wand without the inconveniences, and probably the best Magic Wand Vibrator from the Hitachi/Vibratex line. That said, I don’t think it has escaped every pitfall. This Magic Wand vibrator still suffers from volume issues, especially on higher speeds, and is also not waterproof either. I do appreciate that the head is at least covered in body safe silicone. Compared to the Magic Wand Vibrator Original which had a head made of vinyl, this is obviously a better choice, as the silicone is much easier to clean and maintain. It’s more expensive than the Original, which is to be expected, and bulkier, too, so watch out if you haven’t been doing your pull-ups and curls recently. All in all, this is still not a vibrating wand that I would recommend over all the other products in this review, but if you’re set on purchasing an Original Magic Wand Vibrator, then this newer, corded version is definitely the best option.

Beauty and luxury, however, does come at price, and for this Lelo toy, it’s a big one. It is, after all, an attempt to design both the most luxurious and the strongest wand sex toy around. The Lelo Smart Wand 2 is not my first recommendation for someone on a budget. Although it is definitely an expensive toy compared to the ROMP Flip, the Lelo Smart Wand 2 is still not the most expensive product in my review – the Doxy Die Cast wears that badge with honor! This luxury magic wand vibrator scores rates very high on design for me because of the sleek, ergonomic style. Perfectly curved for a good grip and s “seamless” transition between the head and the body of the toy. This is also what makes the Lelo Smart Wand 2 one of the only products in this whole review that is 100% waterproof. Although, there’s also one hallmark trait of a wand vibrator that it hasn’t managed to shake: it is not quiet. Despite being labelled as ‘whisper-quiet’, I thought it was a lot more than a whisper that came out of this vibrator during use – especially at higher speeds.

I never have to remember to charge it and the cord is also very long. The Lovehoney Deluxe Mini Wand is a fantastic compact option both for those who want portability as well as those who aren’t fans of the big, heavy style of magic wand vibrator. For that price, you might expect to sacrifice quality, but this is actually a very well-made and nice-feeling toy, albeit a smaller version of the original wand design. I like that mini wand vibrators are compact, transportable, and can target a smaller area of pleasure, and in terms of design I was quite pleased with the cute aesthetic and flexible silicone neck. Since this petite designs also works so well for partnered sex, as it fits snugly in between two people, I’ve rated it well on these points. There are some downsides, though. This wand can’t really produce the powerful, rumbly vibrations that some people crave, and sometimes feels more like a buzzy bullet. It also has a pretty short battery life, though it is rechargeable. The plastic did also look and feel quite cheap initially. In terms of performance and overall quality this little guy didn’t do so well in my book. And finally, after use I found it a little hard to clean.
