The Master Series Lil Devil Mini Sensation Pinwheel is a tiny, non-metal version of a Wartenberg Wheel designed for beginners. The 20 small spikes evoke a tingling or prickling sensation in any part of the body. It is lightweight and can be used with varying pressures anywhere. Pair with some restraints, blindfolds, or stick it in your travel bag for some away-from-home spicy time.

First Impressions

I got the Mini Pinwheel with Lovehoney Black Bondage Tape as my partner and I have begun exploring restraint and sensation play. Neither of us have any experience in this area, so this seemed like a great place to start. When I opened the box, my first thought was “it’s so tiny!”. It almost looks like it should be held by a small, barbarian action figure. Removing it from its packaging, it felt light and cheap, but we were anxious to try it out, nonetheless.

In the Moment

While I was minding my own business, reading, my partner came in and sat next to me and ran the pinwheel down my arm. I was pleasantly surprised at the initial feeling. The pressure was kept light as we explored different areas of my body. Personally, I enjoyed it as it ran up the side of my neck, the back of my knee, and inner thigh. We found it difficult to find a good hold on the handle, sometimes. It’s flat for easy grip between index and thumb, but it’s too lightweight to find a good angle for harder pressure. Pairing with the binding of my wrists with the bondage tape was a good move. The combination of limited control and movement enhanced the sensations. My partner… not so much. They found it “weird” and “awkward.” I guess it’s not for everyone and now we know. It’s inexpensive enough to not worry about it if it’s never used again.

Verdict

It’s great that it’s so small, but it’s probably too small, but t was difficult to get the angle and pressure where I wanted it, and if I dropped it (accidentally or to use our hands for other things) it was pretty much lost in the bedding unless I wanted to stop and look for it (which I usually didn’t). I did, however, like the idea of being restrained and having something like that causing different types of sensations. I especially enjoyed the pressure to my neck, inner thigh, and back of the knee, so it’s a win. It’s not my favorite toy so far, and I probably won’t use it again, but I did decide that further exploration into sensory play should be in my future.

The shape and "mechanics" of the Master Series Lil Devil Mini Sensation Pinwheel are easy to use and works great, but it looks and feels cheap. The wheel portion comes off of the handle for cleaning purposes but probably adds to the flimsy feel.

For delicate touching and light pressure, Master Series Lil Devil Mini Sensation Pinwheel works well. For someone who wants more pressure, they might find it difficult. The flat handle makes it easy to pinch between the thumb and index finger. If you have mobility/dexterity or fine motor skill issues, this is not the toy for you.

The specifications describe the material as "hard plastic" but it looks and feels really cheap. With "vigorous" use I would anticipate that it would break easily. It is small and light, making it easy to drop and/or lose in the sheets or on the floor. With all that being said, it is extremely portable and easy to use.

The cost is pretty low, but I feel like it is still too expensive for the quality, size, and usability of the toy. It's probably worth it for beginners. If they don't like it then they didn't waste very much money, but for about the same price you could get a metal, larger pinwheel to try out.

While the Master Series Lil Devil Mini Sensation Pinwheel felt "fine" it didn't live up to my expectations. It was a good way to experiment, but the size and light weight made it impossible to experiment with different pressures.

The packaging reminded me of an action figure toy and that's exactly what I still think about when I see it. There was a "window" to give a good view of it before opening it. It didn't have much information about the product on or inside the box.

The Master Series Lil Devil Mini Sensation Pinwheel is described as using "hard plastic" but the lightness and size makes it seem cheap. The good news is that it's latex-free, portable, waterproof, (Lower temps - no hot tubs), and pulls into two pieces for easy cleaning.

  • Portable
  • Lightweight
  • Beginner friendly

  • Easy to lose in the sheets
  • Difficult to apply much pressure
  • Feels cheaply made

The Master Series Lil Devil Mini Sensation Pinwheel is convieniently small, but that also makes it difficult to apply pressure and get the angle you want. However, it did allow me to discover sensory play, and I found where I enjoy pressure — so it's a win! It's not my favorite toy so far, but it encouraged me and my partner to explore more sensory experiences in the future.
