I was fond of their products’ simplicity and their goal of promoting intimacy while also breaking down stigmas that plague the sexual wellness field. Although potentially geared more toward beginners, I believe that the Maude Dome is a welcome addition to anyone’s collection.
First Impressions
The Maude Dome is ready to go right out of the package. The Dome was nestled in its travel pouch, which looked pretty ordinary and unsuspecting. I thought that the sleek, minimalist vibe was appealing and not something that would cause a double take if left out in the open. With a sturdy base, it could be stood upright with little to no issue. I also appreciated the weight of it, as it provided a pretty solid heft and did not feel flimsy.Test Run
I initially came across the first dilemma: “Which end do I start with?”. I opted to start at the base and once lubricated, I made my way in. I thought that the sensations of the ridges were great at the head and as I made my way toward the peak, the addition of the bumps were a welcome feeling providing a mix of the two textures as I stroked. Once I settled in, I found myself alternating between the two entrances before going for the peak end’s smaller diameter entrance and stroking in a twist like pattern. After the job was done, it was extremely easy to clean up, as it was easy to turn the Maude Dome inside out and clean it with soap and water. One thing I did notice was that despite the emphasis on discretion, the Maude Dome did provide a bit more noise than I expected but it wasn’t something that would wake up others in a close proximity.
Maude had one main goal in mind when creating this toy: discretion. At first glance, it was reminiscent of an air freshener cone with it's wide base that curved its way up. The openings on each side differ in both diameter and texture with the base of the dome featuring a cavernous set of ridges while the peak was slightly smaller with a bumpy texture. With it's compact nature, I am a fan of it's portability and ability to be kept anywhere.
The dome is extremely easy to use with its simple design. Maude recommends using an aloe or water based lubricant of your choice to avoid degradation of the silicone. Once lubricated, it was fairly simple to switch between the ends. Holding the dome was simple and it also allowed the ability to change grip firmness and motion as desired.
The Maude Dome definitely feels like a premium product. The exterior silicone is soft to the touch and smooth while the interior's textures are inviting and pleasurable. There is a cornstarch coating on the exterior to ensure prolonged quality, but it was not something that left any residue on my hands.
At $35, the Maude Dome's price is fairly comparable to many other multi-use strokers in the market. The dome's biggest difference from their competitors in this price range is the addition of a travel case. I do wish that it did come with a packet of the lubrication products that Maude provides in the packaging.
The multi-textured interior does not disappoint with both textures working very well and it's compact nature lets you make changes as you see fit. You may need to reapply lubricant for longer sessions as things begin to desensitize after prolonged use. Although discretion is something that Maude is looking to promote, it does get a little noisy going back and forth.
The Maude Dome comes in a cardboard cylinder with little wording on the front and a more detailed description on the side. I appreciate the minimalist and modern styling of the packaging and if you were unfamiliar with what Maude provides, you would suspect little to nothing as to what the package contains.
The Maude Dome is 100% platinum-grade silicone, waterproof, and is phthalate and latex-free. It also comes with a canvas pouch for storage and a cornstarch coating on the silicone exterior to assist with keeping the product dry and smooth. Cleaning the dome is simple, requiring only soap and hot water and is easily reversible due to it's double-sided opening. After letting it air-dry, it is ready to go back into the pouch to be stored for another time.

The Maude Dome is a welcome arrival to modernized self-care products and is a great simple no-frills sex toy. Sleek, discreet, and compact, it's a great travel partner with its own travel case to keep it in. The double-sided openings with different textures for each provide some variety and allow for easy alternating and cleanup after. Made of platinum-grade silicone, I definitely felt that this was a quality product that could withstand repeated use.
