The Rianne S Kinky Me Softly Bondage Kit is a cheap and cheerful set of BDSM tools that is very approachable for beginners. It includes a set of adjustable wrist cuffs and ankle cuffs, two small chains to connect the cuffs together, a hogtie restraint connector, a small flogger, a feather tickler, a set of small, tweezer-style nipple clamps, and a blindfold. The whole set is in a very bright purple and black color, and it comes in a foldable storage wrap that has handles for portability.
First Impressions
Let’s get this out of the way first — the name of this product is stupid. I would accept ‘Kinking Me Softly’, but Kinky Me Softly? What does that even mean? That was the first of my many frustrations with this bondage kit. I originally picked this out because I liked the variety of the tools it contains, which included a hogtie — not something you see very often in a beginner’s kit. However, once it arrived, the bright purple was all I could see. I had originally ordered a black version, but I received a purple one instead, and now it looks like a black one is not available anymore. I’m not a fan, but each to their own!Flimsy Fetish Gear
As soon as I opened the carrying case, I was met with an overwhelming chemical, plastic smell. It was really off-putting, but I tried to air out the different tools to let it dissipate. As I took out each one, it felt stiff, almost like there was cardboard inside the restraints. The flogger was very light and its falls were stiff and bent, rather than soft and supple like I wanted. The feather tickler looked gaudy and cheap, too. The only thing I liked was the nipple clamps, which were delicate and small, with a little lavender crystal hanging from each one.Testing It Out, Finally
I have to be honest, it took a long while before I actually got out the Rianne S Kinky Me Softly kit to test it. In the end, I asked my boyfriend to put the blindfold on me so that I couldn’t see the offensively purple tools. He started out using the feather tickler on me, which did feel pleasant, and then the flogger, which was softer than I thought but the impacts were very sting-y rather than thud-dy. The restraints, on the other hand, felt scratchy on my wrists and ankles, and were very stiff to adjust. Pretty soon after starting we switched to another blindfold because it was starting to really hurt the bridge of my nose! Another time, I tried on the clamps, but they barely fit on my nipples and fell off soon after, even when tightened as much as I could get them. In the end, I tried out the hogtie with the restraints I had from the Fifty Shades of Grey Hard Limits set instead, and it worked fine, but was still very stiff.
The Kinky Me Softly set is just not my style. This specific shade of purple might be my least favorite color of all time, and the faux suede doesn't appeal to me either. The cheap-looking, bright purple feather tickler is particularly egregious. That being said, I love that the nipple clamps are compact and don't look oversized, like other clamps, and I think it's very handy to have a case where you can store the whole kit.
In some ways, this kit is very easy to use. All of the items are very beginner-friendly, with simple clips to connect the restraints, tweezer-style nipple clamps, and a very lightweight flogger. However, the flogger is almost too light to be effective, especially with its permanently bent, faux leather falls. Plus, since the cuffs have buckles to secure them, it takes longer and is a little more difficult than traditional Velcro starter cuffs.
This is not a high-quality product. I won't condemn it for that, because the price doesn't suggest that it would be. However, if you're looking for nice-feeling, long-lasting BDSM tools, as I was, then it's very likely that you'll be disappointed by this kit. The materials feel flimsy and the construction hasn't been done with much care or attention.
I really struggled to evaluate whether this kit is worth the money you would pay for it. It does allow you to experience quite a few different elements of bondage and impact play, but at just under $50, it's still a not-insignificant investment. It is cheaper than some other bondage kits on the market, but it is also pretty low-quality. If you feel that you're interested in all the different tools in this kit, and like the aesthetic that it's going for, then it may be worth it for you.
Some of the items in this set did perform well, especially the feather tickler. However, since I dislike how most of the other items feel and look, it's not a set that will be making many appearances after this review is done.
The Kinky Me Softly kit comes in a large purple box with silhouettes of each of the pieces of the kit on the front. It does actually feel quite luxurious! Inside, you'll find the foldable handbag case that holds all of the pieces of the set.
The whole kit, including the case is made from faux leather (though I can't find out exactly what kind of plastic this is), with some metal accents. Since it's a suede-like fabric, I'm not sure how well they would stand being wet, but you shouldn't need to do much deep cleaning. If you do need to spot clean any of the tools, just use a clean, damp cloth.

I was not overly impressed with the Rianne S Kinky Me Softly bondage kit. Despite being fairly new to BDSM play, I found the whole thing to be disappointingly low-quality and flimsy. I do appreciate that it has a range of tools that give you an introduction to both bondage and impact play, but the only thing I think I got from it is that I wanted to buy a better quality flogger, tickler and restraints immediately!
