The Bondage Rope by Tantus is made completely from polyester, this makes the rope strong yet extremely flexible! The material also feels silky smooth against the skin. The rope itself is 30 feet long. You can use this toy to restrain another person (consensually) or to make shibari style "tops" to wear over clothes. The possibilities are endless when it comes to this rope!

First Impressions

I have tried many different ropes in past BDSM relationships, and therefore, I had high hopes for this one. Plenty of ropes do not hold a knot and become loose when being worn. The Tantus Bondage Rope lived up to every expectation I had.

Long Time Wear

As someone who likes to be tied up for at least an hour at a time, this rope was soft on the skin and did not cause any rope burn. It did leave a few marks, but that will happen when rope is tied tight against the body. When pulling against the ties, the rope stayed in the spot it was to be at and the knots did not get any tighter. This is important and does take proper knowledge from the rigger (someone who practices the art of bondage).

The Rope Length

The biggest issue I ran into (though I would not consider this a con) was the length of the rope. At first, my rigger was trying to do a simple wrist tie, there was a lot of extra rope that we let hang over the bed. It was just an inconvenience, because it kept getting in the way. We then moved onto having my legs tied. The length really pulled through on this! It was perfect. It wrapped around my thigh and shin multiple times with enough left over for the knot.

The design works really well and feels as good as it looks! Personally, it looks a bit more simple than basic. However, I am not a fan of the tassels on the ends of each side. This is a personal preference and does not affect the rope at all.

When it comes to any type of bondage rope, there is a learning curve. The material of this specific rope made it easy to use. However, there are many types of ties and knots to learn. You can find thousands of ideas by looking around online! Someone with a grip and mobility would have trouble using the product if they were the ones tying with it. This may also cause a problem if they needed to untie it fast. If the person who has being tied up had mobility or grip issues, it would not be a problem at all!

The overall quality of the rope is high. It feels like it was made from reliable materials that will not fray overtime. When moving the rope around, it makes no sound and is completely silent.

I personally believe you get your money worth for the product. There was a few extras in the box when the package arrived! It included some coupons for the Tantus site and two small sample packs of lube. The rope itself is worth the price but the little thoughtful details make purchasing it even more!

The rope lived up to all the expectations and the promises Tantus made online! I was thoroughly impressed. There was no pain while using it but if the rope is tied too tight, there may be pain.

The packaging of the product was really cute! When opening the main box, there was red tissue paper wrapped around everything, this was a pleasant surprise and added to the discreteness. It did not have how to instructions, I feel that this may be hard to give since it was bondage rope and there are so many ways to use it. They did however mention needing to use safety.

The materials are 100% body safe, unless you are allergic to polyester, which is what the rope is made from. That being said, you should not insert it into your body. To wash the rope, I recommend using a mild soap or laundry detergent and warm water, wash it with your hands then hand it to dry. The material is not waterproof but it is water resistant. The bondage rope did not come with a storage bag which makes it harder to keep from getting all tangled.

After my experiences with the Tantus Bondage Rope, I will be reusing it over and over! If you are new to BDSM and bondage or have been in the scene for years, I believe you should try out this rope. The craftsmanship really stands out with this high quality rope and makes it perfect for simple or elaborate ties for shibari!
