The UPKO Caged Beast chastity device is a polycarbonate chastity cage that comes with three different ring sized and an internal lock. The Caged beast also comes with seven silicone 'spikes' that can be placed on the cage with the spikes pointing out or in.
Giving Chastity Another Go.
I tried on my first chastity cage seven years ago. It was the cheap generic cage that comes with the squared off rings and has the three rods that hold everything together, and the annoying external lock. Trying to wear that chastity cage was one of the more painful and frustrating experiences I’ve had in my kink life. It took forever to get on, and was always painful to use. That cage must of had over a hundred pinch points on it. The worst part was that I wanted to like it, I had spend so much time and money trying to make sure it would work only for it to be a total disaster. After that I had given up on chastity cages claiming that they were too much work and money for a piece of plastic that might not even work, or worse yet just hurt you. It wasn’t until I had started seeing more of the new cages that were getting reviewed on Bedbible that I thought maybe it was time to give it another shot. So I was excited and apprehensive when I was offered to review the UPKO Caged Beast chastity cage. Part of me hoped it would go great, and part of me thought it would be a disaster.Trying it out.
When the Caged Male chastity cage arrived, I wasn’t expecting what I found. A modern and elegant package that looked like it was something out of a luxury brand, not a sex toy company. After opening the box and taking a look over the chastity cage, I was starting to warm up to the idea that this toy might not be so bad. The cage itself looked nice and the rings looked like they would fit. I was also please by the fact it had an internal lock mechanism and not just a dinky little padlock like some models do. While trying it on for the first time I quickly realized that the first two sizes of rings weren’t going to work, thankfully the largest one fit like a charm. This is also a great time that the online description has the ring sizes as large, super-large, and ultra-large. Not sure who’s ego the seller is trying to stroke there, but hey if it gets them sales. Once I got the ring on and the impending boner subsided I was able to get the rest of the cage on and lock it up with no issues. No need to lube myself up so as to more easily force myself into the cage or use any other makeshift method to get the cage on, everything just fit. The first time I tried it out I had it on for around three hours under my clothes and I can’t say I had any issues. It honestly didn’t feel like I was wearing anything at all, which may or may not be a good thing depending on what you want. It was surprisingly pleasant.Walkin Around Town.
To really get an idea of how the cage held up and felt I decided to start wearing it more out and about, from walking my dogs, to shopping for groceries and cleaning the house, I decided to wear the cage while doing it. Overall it was great, I barely noticed it. The only time I had issues was when I was driving and one or two times when walking my dogs. During those instances there were noticeable pinch points on my sack from the ring. It was never anything too bad, but enough to where I had to stoop and adjust things, which can be a bit awkward if you’re in public.Hater No More.
After trying out the UPKO Caged Male, I can officially say that I no longer hate chastity cages and think they’re a waste of time. I get why they’re such a big thing in the kink world. I couldn’t have come to this change in perspective without being able to try out the Caged Male. I think it’s a great cage for beginners or seasoned kinksters who just want another cage to lock their bits up in.
The majority of chastity cages these days pretty much have the same design, a ring to hold the balls, a tube to hold the cock, and some way to lock the two together. The aspect of the Caged Beast design that I like the most is how open it is. It's very airy. This means that your member isn't stuck sitting in it's own funk all day if you catch my drift. It also makes going to the bathroom less of a hassle.
This cage is honestly really straight forward to use, and there's nothing about the general use of it that would make it difficult to use aside from it being the wrong size or having to deal with erections while trying to get it on. There's no learning curve either, simply put the ring on, then the cage, then put the lock on and bobs your uncle.
The quality is nice. The PC material that the cage is made from was smooth and it didn't have any rough spots or sharp edges, which was really surprising considering how many acute angles there are on this cage. It feels great to wear and I don't have any major complaints about it. The only part that didn't feel congruent quality wise with the rest of the toy were the silicone "spikes". I was able to get the attached with the spikes sticking out like it shows online, but there was no way for me to get the to point inwards like it mentions in the online description.
I won't lie, I have no clue how to judge the price of chastity cages. To me, chastity cages are the wild west of sex toys. Every company seems to be selling the same handful of cage models at randomly different prices and it doesn't even seem to be that there's any difference between one companies model and another's. Even while writing this review I saw another review on Bedbible for a cage that was exactly the same aside from the fact the color was more translucent and it came with two keys instead of one. The price was slightly cheaper. So is the $70 price tag worth it for this chastity cage? I have no clue. Is it worth it for a sex toy in general? I'd say yes, but I'd also say that in general it's a little on the expensive side for what you're getting, but I'm biased and would say that about any chastity cage over $60.
As far as chastity cages go, this one was a treat to use. It was easy enough to get on when certain members were cooperating, and it didn't really have any pinch points aside from the random few while walking.
The packaging on this toy threw me for a loop. I'm used to sex toy packages and boxes that mostly go the same route. They normally have a big picture of the toy on the front with the brand name, and another picture on the back showing the features. The people at UPKO apparently did not get the memo about sex toy packaging because this box was nothing that I was expecting. The box the Caged Beast chastity cage came in looked like something from a high end jewelry store. It was an off gray cardboard box with with UPKO written in a gold metallic embedding on the sides. The front of the box had a fancy art deco pattern embossed on it with a black picture of a strange bird person standing next to a naked kneeling man and the two were framed by another black art deco pattern. Aside from the naked kneeling man, nothing about this packaging suggested sex toys or bdsm. The inside of the box was even more unusual. With all the parts having their own individual spaces held in place in the type of foam you'd store high end equipment in, not a sex toy. Not to mention it was topped with a black sheet of wrapping paper with UPKO embossed in gold. It was all enough to even make Patrick Batmen stop and say "Impressive, very nice."
The Caged Beasts chastity cage is made of polycarbonate plastic so it's waterproof and body safe. It can also be easily cleaned with soap and water. It's easy to clean, but due to the design it can be a little tricky to get into all the tight corners.
