Lovehoney Perfect Partner Unisex Hollow Strap-On – Test & Review

Going purely on looks, I have very few complaints about this. The veining and the head are nice realistic touches that feel good when the strap-on is in use too. It's a great length and girth that would suit beginners. But when it comes to how it feels this is where the Perfect Partner loses out on points because it just doesn't feel as good as it looks. The veining does provide some nice stimulation and the curve of the shaft is perfect but that's all off-set by how firm the strap on is. The PVC makes the strap-on feel quite basic and there's definitely no hint of luxury to it. It's just really missing that softness of silicone toys that me and my partner are used to and we felt that was a big thing for us. The harness is basic but does the job but I personally don't think it's been well designed for larger people due to the limited size adjustments.

Getting the harness on was relatively simple for both of us. However, as a man, I had a bit more difficulty with the dildo than my partner as the inside of the strap-on required a lot of lube. I do think the rigidity worked against it here as a little more give in the dildo would certainly have made things easier. The harness is very stretchy which I think is a plus point if you have any grip or mobility issues in your hands as it's just a case of stepping in and pulling up, there's very little adjusting to do. But again, if you have a penis, you may have difficulty sliding it in to the dildo. Once the harness was on, neither of us had any difficulty keeping the strap-on in place. However, we both commented that probably wouldn't be the case if you're plus-sized and this is where better size adjustments would be ideal.

We definitely had to knock a lot of points off for quality unfortunately. That plastic smell just put us off straight away. Neither of us are fans of plastic toys because of their porous nature, we both prefer toys that can be properly disinfected and are 100% body safe which PVC isn't. A PVC toy just isn't something we'd want in our toy box for a long time because no matter how well you clean it it will still harbour some bacteria and will degrade a lot quicker than silicone. There's just no getting over the plastic material. It looks cheap and basic and feels the same. My partner commented that it just didn't feel that nice in use because the velvety soft texture just wasn't there. It does the job if you want to test out how you feel about hollow strap-ons but beyond that neither of us imagined the Perfect Partner lasting all that long.

Although the quality isn't great, for such a low price I'm not too mad about it. I do think the Perfect Partner is the perfect price point if you've never used a hollow unisex strap-on before because with this you don't have to spend a lot of money to work out whether you like it or not. The fact that it is so cheap sort of explains why the materials aren't great, although we can't totally forgive it for being a PVC dildo just because it has a low price as we've tried other low cost toys that have felt better than this one! The long and short of it is, if you decide a hollow strap-on isn't for you then you've really not lost a lot of money. If you do enjoy it, then you can look for something that's better quality.

Sadly I do think the Perfect Partner falls short of its claims. It promises that you'll be able to give your partner the ride of their life, but the experience was average at best for both of us. The detailing and curve of the shaft did live up to expectation somewhat as my partner said they felt good, however this was slightly off-set by the firmness. My partner mentioned it wasn't the most comfortable dildo ever and that distracted from being able to enjoying the veining and the G-spot curve. Unfortunately it just wasn't the Perfect Partner for either of us when it came to performance and it's probably not a toy we'd reach for in rush.

The packaging for the Perfect Partner is simple but it does the job. There's nothing to really dislike about it but I do recommend keeping hold of the box to store the strap-on in as it doesn't come with a storage bag. One side of the box details 5 steps to using the hollow strap-on right from getting the harness on to cleaning the toy after use. The instructions are simple but easy to follow. The opposite side of the box is where you'll find all the claims about the toy and the features like 'one size fits all'. The bag of the box has Lovehoney's mission statement on it which we personally find to be a nice touch as we do like Lovehoney and what they stand for. Overall we both thought the packaging was decent enough and it provides a good amount of information about the product.

The Perfect Partner is submersible however I don't think either of us were keen on the idea of using this in the shower as the idea of the harness getting wet was a bit off-putting. I didn't fancy my chances that the elastic might start to rub in places I really wouldn't want it to! PVC just wouldn't be my first choice of a material for a sex toy though just because it's a porous material. It doesn't matter how well you clean a PVC toy they will always harbour some bacteria and it's just not a pleasant thought. Lovehoney do state that the Perfect Partner is Phthalate-Free which can be a concern with plastic toys so at least that a positive. Lovehoney recommend using a sex toy cleaner which is fine but mild soap and warm water will do the trick. Just make sure yo leave the strap-on out to thoroughly dry before putting it back in the box.
