The Doc Johnson Merci Bind&Tie rope is made with 100% natural hemp and features a premium three-strand twisted design with reinforced ends to prevent unraveling. This rope is 30ft long, so you can use it for all kinds of bondage plays, and shibari.
I wanted to get a bondage rope mostly to explore shibari, and start learning the knots and ties. I mostly wanted to be able to create beautiful harnesses and other cute accessories to wear rather than use them for actual bondage play, but the more knots I learned the more things I wanted to try in the bedroom. Overall, I think this rope is great for harnesses because is quite flexible, and very soft. I also used it for simple hands and leg restraints, and it all felt comfortable against the skin. I wouldn’t advise it for any serious hanging tho, I think the rope is too thin, and wouldn’t be able to hold a body without causing discomfort.
Purple is my favorite color, so I am fully sold on Doc Johnson Merci’s design. I love the color, and the three-strand twisted design, and I appreciate the reinforced ends that prevent unraveling.
I’ve never tried shibari, or any bondage play that involves ropes, so taking a deep dive into ties and knot techniques felt overwhelming, but I had no issues with the rope itself.
I don’t have any previous experience with bondage ropes, and the Doc Johnson Merci was my first attempt at Shibari, so it’s hard for me to compare it to anything else, but I really liked using this rope. It’s made with 100% natural hemp, which feels soft and slides smoothly against the skin.
The Doc Johnson Merci Bind&Tie is priced a little bit higher than other ropes, but the main reason is that it’s made of hemp instead of cotton.
Using the Doc Johnson Merci Bind&Tie was fun, and comfortable. I found the rope to be soft and gentle against the skin, and I enjoyed using it. It did leave a few marks here and there, but I have very sensitive skin, and after all, it’s a rope, not silk. I also think it’s part of the charm.
The Doc Johnson Merci Bind&Tie came in a pretty box with a nice and tasteful design. The rope inside was packed in a plastic bag. I wish there was more information included about how to take care of the material, or some kind of inspiration for shibari knots, but overall, I can’t complain.
The Doc Johnson Merci Bind&Tie is made from 100% natural hemp, which is flexible and feels soft against the skin. Unfortunately, the box doesn’t include any instructions on cleaning. I think you can wash it in a washing machine, or just use any fabric detergent.

I don’t have much experience with bondage ropes, so I am not the best judge here, but I think the Doc Johnson Merci Bind&Tie is a high-quality bondage rope that is suitable for use by anyone. It’s soft against the skin, and I had no issues working with it while following Shibari YouTube tutorials.
