They’re super practical since they’re lightweight, easy to install, and fit with all mattress sizes. Plus, you don’t need to make any extra space for storage. Once the Sweet Anticipation Under Mattress Restraint Set arrived, I was eager to set it up. However, the packaging was very subtle and minimalistic. Almost too minimalistic because there was no manual or instructions for how to set it up! This wasn’t a big problem since the installment is surprisingly intuitive, and, luckily for me, I knew exactly how to do it after reading Isabelle’s review of the Sportsheets Under the Bed Restraint System! I simply laid out the system on top of my bed, adjusted the straps, and then lifted up my mattress to place the strap system under it. The whole process was surprisingly quick and easy. Now, since I like having my kinky tools easily accessible, I actually just remove the cuffs and tuck in the tip of all four straps under the mattress when I’m not using it. Yes, this is now a pretty permanent part of my bed now. Then I can easily attach the cuffs again when I suddenly have the need for a full-body restraint system! I love how well the Sweet Anticipation Under Mattress Restraint Set worked for me. When it comes to plus-size bondage gear, there’s always a fear that some of the equipment hasn’t been designed to work for bigger bodies. This was definitely not my experience with this product. I really appreciate the multiple levels of adjustability in the cuffs and the strap. I can see how a more diverse range of body types could feel catered to with this level of customization. The restraint system actually also comes with two removable connecting chain with clips in both ends. This was you can use the cuffs without the actual restraint system. Even better? You can also use these connecting chains with the under the bed restrains to explore some extra restrictive bondage positions. With four optional fastening points, two additional connecting chains, four ankles and wrist cuffs, and so much adjustability, I’d say you’ve got a lot of versatility to play around with here. Last but not least, I absolutely adore the reversible feature in the cuff design. One side is a glossier, black and red, romantic design with beautiful roses. The other side is plain black faux leather. Despite the buckle fastening, these cuffs are fully reversible! Turn them inside out to cater to whatever mood you’re in! Simply open the cuff, slip the buckle strap through the hole in the middle, and turn the buckle around. Trust me, it’s easier to do than it is to explain!
I really liked the design of the Sweet Anticipation Under Mattress Restraint Set! I like that the buckle fastenings on the cuffs make for a more advanced BDSM experience as opposed to cuffs with velcro fastenings. Although my absolute favorite part of the design is the reversible feature! Even though I appreciate the more romantic look with red roses on one side, I actually prefer the neutral black leather look. With this set, I get to choose between the two, depending on my mood! I think the reversible design with the buckle strap and the buckle itself being able to turn inside out like that is super innovative and exciting. 95 points from me! The only thing I could have lived without is the brand name printed on the buckle strap of each cuff.
This is one of the best parts of the Sweet Anticipation Under Mattress Restraint Set. It is incredibly easy to install under your mattress and the cuffs are very easy to put on and remove. They're also easy to reverse, once you've gotten the hang of it! Being a beginner when it comes to under-the-bed restraints, and slightly more experienced with other types of BDSM restraints, I found the Sweet Anticipation Under Mattress Restraint Set very intuitive to use. I would even go so far as saying that absolute bondage beginners would feel comfortable installing and using this product.
Here's the thing, I do feel like this is a good quality restraint set. There are many other products out there that are much less durable and poorly designed, so this is a relatively good product. However, I do think that, given the price range, the Sweet Anticipation Under Mattress Restraint Set is perhaps not living up to the promised quality. There are some minor flaws in the stitching on the cuffs, and the material on the glossier side does not seem very long-lasting. Of course, these are very small issues, but still not something I would expect from a more pricey product like the Sweet Anticipation Under Mattress Restraint Set.
My comments on the not-quite-as-expected quality go hand in hand with my comments on the price. I do think that the higher price range has a bit more to do with the Fifty Shades of Grey Brand than the actual value of the set. Compared to the price points of some of the other under-the-bed restraint sets on the market, the Sweet Anticipation Under Mattress Restraint Set is almost twice as expensive as some others! Of course, you have to account for the reversible features and more durable buckle fastenings adding to the price point. However, I still do think there's an element of this set being slightly overpriced because of the label that it carries. Still, it is a good quality product that works very well and offers a lot of versatility. If it's within your budget and you want to enjoy all those fun features, I would still recommend it!
Alright, so how did it perform once all installed and ready to go? Like a dream! I mean, it's not like I'm assessing how powerful the vibrations are or how insertion feels with this kind of product, so in terms of performance, there's not much to say. The cuffs felt durable and restrictive in the best way. Adjusting the straps along the way to explore different positions or angles was easy and actually quite fun. Of course, the strap can slide around (sideways) a little bit, which is to be expected when they're not individually attached to the bed itself. Although, this was not an issue for me at all. It performed well and was just as fun as I thought it would be!
The packaging for the Sweet Anticipation Under Mattress Restraint Set was actually extremely simple. The whole set came neatly wrapped up in a black satin bag to use for storage. This satin pouch was then placed in a matching white paper bag for protection during shipping. I do appreciate the relatively small and discreet packaging and an included satin pouch that is perfect for both storage and transportation. Although, the packaging was so minimalistic that there wasn't even a small pamphlet with instruction for how to install the system. Even though it is quite intuitive to use, I would have appreciate a little bit of guidance.
The cuffs are made of padded faux leather on one side, detailed fabric on the other. The straps are made of nylon, and the chains, clips, and buckles are made of nickel-free metal hardware. All of these materials can easily be wiped down with a damp cloth after use to keep things nice and clean.

Overall, I like the Sweet Anticipation Under Mattress Restraint Set. I do really appreciate having an almost "built-in" restraint system just hanging out under my mattress for whenever my partner and I are ready for a spontaneous BDSM session. I love how easy it is to install, and how lightweight, portable, and versatile it is. There's so much kinky pleasure to be explored with a set like this! On the downside, I have to mention that I think the premium price seems to promise a higher quality experience. However, the few minor flaws that I experienced in terms of quality in the material, leads me to believe that you, as a customer, are very much also paying for the brand moreso than the value of the product. This is not necessarily a large point of criticism - it's more of an observation. This is definitely a common pattern when it comes to prices and brand names in the sex toy industry. All in all, I still really like this under-the-bed restraint set. I love the adjustability, the versatility, the practicality, and, of course, the reversability! So, if this is within your budget and you're looking for a good quality under-the-bed set, I would definitely recommend the Sweet Anticipation Under Mattress Restraint Set. For those who are on a tighter budget, rest assured, there are similar products available out there at much lower price points.
