Lovense Hush 2 — Test & Review

The minimalist design of the Lovense Hush 2 radiates modern vibes. The silicone is firm, with some flexibility in the neck and base. Though sleek, there's slightly more friction to the texture than that of silky silicones. A black exterior and no-frills design feels inclusive, reflecting the Lovense culture. My favorite detail of all is the flexible, waved shape of the base. It seems to foreshadow the vibes and soundwaves soon to pass through the product in use.

Lovense did a wonderful job engineering an intuitive toy. A single button is used to power it on/off and filter through the seven standard vibrations. This button sits in the dipped section of the curved base, which aids in finding it without sight. Interactive features are controlled using the Lovense App. If you know how to connect to Bluetooth and download an app, you're practically over the learning curve. I, personally, enjoy reading manuals. However, no explanation was needed for navigating the user interface. The only limitations are internet access and device compatibility, which I'll discuss in the "Special Feature" section.

This is a state-of-the-art product. As mentioned, it's an updated version of the already advanced Lovense Hush, and this perfectionism is evident in the product. The durable silicone and practical design seem to be of lasting quality. A powerful motor emits rumbly vibrations for a whopping 4 hours, and it only takes 60 minutes to recharge the battery. As for the app, no bugs or technical difficulties were encountered. Every last detail has been fine-tuned.

It retails for between $179 and $199 on the official Lovense website, depending on size. The 1.5-inch diameter retails for $119 at Hustler Hollywood. This is a hefty price. Before trying it, I don't think I could have rationalized spending so much on a sex toy; after exploring the features, I can't envision my future sex-life without it. While there are more affordable app-enabled toys on the market (by Satisfyer, for example), I've not tried them to know how they compare. All that said, I personally feel that the versatility of this product is worth the price.

The Lovense Hush 2 exceeded any expectations I could have had. The ergonomic design was comfortable to wear, even during long sessions and non-sexual activities. It stayed in place thanks to the long, thin neck and t-bar base. Not to mention, it's so quiet! It's not perfectly silent, but "Hush" is an appropriate name to convey the discretion. My only critique is that, when responding to sound, the vibrations are very slightly delayed; so, they're not perfectly in sync with the music. That being said, I think it added an unexpected element which enhanced my pleasure.

Lovense has mastered the art of understated perfection. First and foremost, the box is sealed in plastic wrap for tamper resistance. Sleek, white packaging exudes modern elegance, like the masterpiece within. Simple graphics and text concisely communicate the functionality of the product, as does the user manual. The lid slides with a satisfying ASMR quality as it "shhhucks" open, revealing the Lovense Hush 2 cradled in a dense, foam insert. To top it all off, it comes with a satin storage bag.

As mentioned, the Lovense Hush 2 is made from silicone. You know the drill: only use water-based lube with silicone toys. A thick, gel-like consistency is preferrable, as the texture provides some cushion and slows evaporation. After use, it should be washed with a sex toy cleanser and warm water. Allow the surface to fully dry before storing. Any extreme temperatures could potentially damage the electronics within, so boiling must be avoided. Recharge the battery at least once every 6 months.
