8 Best Strap On Dildos & Harnesses

I selected the Sportsheets New Comers Strap-On Set as the Test Winner today because it’s a great all-rounder. As a sex toy expert, I know how great of an investment it is to find a product that can grow with you as you get more experienced with sex toys. This set is unintimidating enough to be beginner-friendly and it is easy to adjust. But the dildo also has enough of a curve to it that I think it will be great for g-spot or prostate massage that will satisfy more experienced users. Our tester, Catherine, also found that the harness is made to be worn by people of all sizes. “There is a lot of room in the straps” and she mentioned how it’s “very simple to step into the harness and tighten the adjustable straps until it’s comfortable on you”. Catherine and her partner were also both “pleasantly surprised to find that the tightness of the straps stayed in place even with a lot of activity”. Still, they were easy to loosen again! The biggest con is that tightening the straps stretches the o-ring a bit. This does make it more likely for the dildo to fall out of the harness: “It didn’t happen enough to annoy us, but it definitely had to be something we were aware of while we were using it.”

I love that the Bend Over Beginner Strap-On Kit comes with everything you need to get started with strap-on sex and more! It’s so great that it comes with two different sized dildos so the kit can grow with you. Or you have one to use anally and one vaginally! Christina reviewed it for us and agrees that “this is a great beginner strap-on kit for anal or vaginal insertion.” She liked that the “reasonably-sized and über-smooth dildos” were unintimidating but still satisfying for her partner. She also appreciated that the harness “fits quite a range of hip sizes and allows control without coming loose.” However, she did wish the some of the straps were a little softer around the edges, although it didn’t rub at all during use. Even though they thought that the vibrator didn’t look the highest quality, they were pleasantly surprised that it had “a decently strong buzz.”  I think the versatility of this kit is where it really shines, giving strap-on newbies plenty to explore!

The ROMP Piccolo Pegging Kit is my top recommendation for an affordable strap-on. It’s a full kit with a good quality silicone dildo and a fully adjustable harness. While there aren’t any bullet vibrators included, there is a pocket for one in both the harness and the dildo. Our tester, Cassie, loved that this design allows “both the wearer and receiver can enjoy some added stimulation.” She found that the harness fit her very well and that the straps were super easy to adjust once she got the hang of it. She was also “surprised to see how small the dildo actually was, so it was perfect for pegging beginners like my partner and I.”  On the flip side, the dildo does almost seem a bit too small for the o-ring. This made it prone to slipping out during more vigorous movement. This isn’t a problem if you choose to use a slightly girthier dildo, though. Overall I think it’s a decent quality pegging kit that’s both affordable and versatile.

One of the main complaints I see with strapless strap-ons is that they just don’t stay in — even if you can Kegel at an olympic level! However, Strap-On-Me’s egg-shaped pony seems to be much easier to hold in place! Cassie reviewed it for us and reported that she was pleasantly surprised that it “require[d] less support than [she] thought a strapless strap-on would require!” She found that the posable mid section was “a huge win” and like that it “allowed [her] to find the perfect fit for my specific anatomy.” As well as helping it stay in place, she commented that the “large egg-shaped bulb feels amazing since it puts so much pressure on the g-spot.” It was also nice that “the movements of the dildo could be felt in the internal pony,” adding more stimulation for the wearer. Cassie tested out the small size and thought the shaft was “great for beginners since it’s so slim and smooth” but it’s also nice that it comes in four bigger sizes for more advanced tastes.

I picked the Lapis as the best vibrating strap-on because it scored top marks for vibration – a perfect 100/100 for strength and an almost perfect 90/100 for rumbliness, which most people prefer over buzzy vibrations! It also has an impressive 3 vibrating motors that stimulate both partners. On top of that, I think the option for app control makes it so much easier to control all the settings. Joseph reviewed the Lapis for Bedbible and was taken aback that he “could feel the motor all through [his] whole body even on the lowest setting.” He was also impressed that even though “the motors are very strong they are also surprisingly quiet,” so this is a vibrating strap-on I wouldn’t be scared to use in a shared living situation!  He also enjoyed the strapless strap-on design, commenting that it gave him “some gendergood feelings about having a penis with no obvious straps holding it up” so I can see this being a great accessory for anyone struggling with ftm genital dysphoria. Unfortunately, as is often the case with strapless strap-ons, he experienced that it slipped out and he “still needed a hand to hold it in place.” I often recommend using a harness with a strapless strap-on for this specific reason and Joseph actually found that using a harness with the Lapis increased their pleasure as it “really presses the ribbed bottom of the shaft against you” and increases the vibration intensity. If I was going to use the Lapis, I would only use the app to control it as the strap-on itself only has one power button, which Joseph found “can be tricky to find, especially if you’re already wearing it.” Plus, the app allows for a lot more customisation!

In my experience, most strap-ons focus the stimulation on the receiving partner, but I really like that this one has a lot going on for the wearer as well, with internal and clitoral vibrations! Vicki and her partner reviewed it for us and were happy that they could “both experience some great sensations!” They thought “the vibrations [were] amazing” and definitely “increased the pleasure” they felt while using it! They did find that it came with a bit of a learning curve and like most strapless strap-ons, it was a challenge to get it to stay in. However, “both ends hit the right spots and it was a connecting experience” that had them on the “brink of orgasm at the same time.” While strapless strap-ons can be tricky to use, they do have the advantage of feeling more intimate! The also found that the “buttons are a bit confusing” so it’s good spend a bit of time working them out before diving in. Vicki also discovered that she could use the strap-on as a “G-spot vibrator and a vibrating dildo,” making it a fun toy to use solo as well!

I reviewed the Strap-On-Me Diva Lingerie Harness and loved how sexy it looked! It was my first foray into the world of strap-ons and it really was a fantastic place to start! It’s as easy as wearing a pair of panties! It’s also super easy to slip your dildo of choice through the stretchy O-ring and you are good to go! It will work with dildos up to 1.6 inches and I found a few of my dildos worked well, including the Sportsheets Galaxie and the Vixen Mustang. I loved the lace details and open back design and felt really sexy while wearing the harness, which added a lot to the experience! It also means it’s great for wearing a butt plug, especially a cute one, like the Rosebuds Butt Plug, because you can see the gem peeking out through the open back design. The suspenders were a little fiddly and have since been lost somewhere in a drawer but I like that you can easily remove them. The harness is quite stable, but as the material is stretchy, I found myself needing to use my hand to stabilise the dildo at times. Another big plus is that it’s machine washable!

I’ve tried a whole lot of dildos in my time, and this is still my favorite! The dual density silicone is just *mwah chefs kiss!* It feels so wonderfully realistic! I really like that it’s firm enough for easy control but the soft outer layer feels satisfyingly squishy and comfortable. I’m not a fan of realistic skin tone dildos, so I was super happy to get this in the Tie Bright design, but it also comes in three skin tones and other plain colors. On top of all that, flared base, good length, and slight curve all make this dreamy dildo a fantastic strap-on dildo in any harness with an O-ring!
